  1. You are my hero, awesome And thanks, I knew the link to the news page and will definitely keep having an eye on that (I like that there's not a lot of mainstream news there, but more things you don't really see anywhere else). Like I said, it's really nothing against it, my single reason is the thing of avoiding spoilers
  2. Come on Worst, I can't imagine my little Nunspeet having a world champion but that'd be so awesome
  3. Is there some way to not see the Latest News part, or is that something a user can't change? Nothing at all against it, but I notice now there's also luge results being posted there, so now I can add Totallympics to the list of websites I should leave until I'm all caught up with all the sports (which is no problem with regular threads, there you can just decide to not open the thread of the event you want to know nothing about yet - besides the rare idiot who posts spoilers for event A in the thread for event B ).
  4. First yesterday's qualifying was postponed to today, then it was postponed by another hour, and now today is cancelled. Let's see how it goes tomorrow..
  5. Which is of course bullshit, but when you're the head of an NOC, you can't really say much else No way athletes should get priority over actually important people, but yeah. Money talks.
  6. Yes, but I am used to that by now since that's almost always the case. Sometimes the thumbnail is a random picture, but usually - also in World Cups - it's something like athlete A cheering, a screenshot from athlete B crossing the line in 1st or even the podium Once you're used to that, it's fine though, just use your hand to cover the video and scroll in such a way that you only see the title of the video, then click. Yeah it ain't ideal But it's a viable workaround at least.
  7. Yeah this is for Zuk, finally something in the seniors
  8. I am entirely sure after this the super-G was scheduled for 11.45 today on the FIS website, so just for those who are waiting for that: it actually starts at 11.00, I just saw by coincidence
  9. Bendika is rather hasty, resulting in an annoying pattern: Miss, hit, hit, hit, hit Miss, hit, hit, hit, hit Miss, hit, hit, hit, hit
  10. It's annoying how the live streams aren't available yet as on-demand video as soon as the race is finished FIL's live streaming system having these annoying flaws, IBSF messed up their YouTube channel so it's not possible to pause and rewind a live stream anymore (and you have to watch either live entirely or on-demand entirely)....the streaming world is going backwards
  11. But there's a bridge! And they go up the bridge twice a lap!
  12. Not really. At least those who competed in the World Cup in December seem to have what looks like (for the uneducated like us) a mix between a Mongolian and Chinese name. A logical guess would be they're from areas relatively close to Mongolia, which think might also be more logical than coming from the big cities like Shanghai. Same thing in speed skating every now and then.
  13. You better make sure your laptop is too far away to be thrown out of the window.
  14. The Oostende authorities had a long 'battle' about whether or not it could be held, but last week or so it was finally given the green light That's going to be a whole, whole lot of sand and other than that a bit of a boring track...if they wanted sand so badly to help Van Aert, they should have gone for the much better Koksijde or for Zonhoven and The Pit
  15. China has been competing in the World Cup since at least December
  16. At least I've found a way that works (for me) to not miss competitions in case I missed some replacement or postponement or whatever. Every Monday I go to this URL, where you see all the World Cups in all FIS sports, and check out what's still actually there for the current week Surprisingly it made me actually not miss a single event yet
  17. Depends on the level of exotic you're looking for. No problems for the South American big three and the likes of Iran, Bolivia or last time even Bermuda wouldn't have had a problem. I do agree with your main point, but 300 points is not that terrible and impossible for skiers of a decent level even in classic (remember the qualifying race counts too).
  18. Ravenna (/) misses out by one position, Tiruma doesn't make it neither.
  19. The 'instantly guaranteed' isn't really the case yet though, first he'll have to get under 300 points at the world championships next month.
  20. Wait, his insanity in Lahti wasn't 'letting the anger out' yet?
  21. @brunamoura and I will have some celebratory snacks tonight after Baiba's gold
  22. Rieder/Rastner don't make the race. https://www.fil-luge.org/cdn/uploads/sprint-doubles-qualification-koenigssee-result.pdf
  23. By the way, just realizing this now, but how can someone with a minority share change the ownership ratios apparently without any sort of approval from the one with a majority share?
