  1. Oh wow, FIS coming with senseable things Equipment restrictions should absolutely 100% be done in cross-country skiing as well. It is absolute bullshit to have the powerhouse nations going around with 50 (!) pairs of skis for a single athlete and an entire science division to join them in their trucks.
  2. This really is an example of why FIS needs to sell the rights packages as a whole. You either have no rights to show the freestyle World Cup, or you have the rights to show all of them. Not this nonsense which so often happens with especially Swiss events...
  3. It's been moved to Livigno. 'Lovely' Livigno, where the world exists of nothing but Livigno
  4. Cancellations because of too much snow in one place and too little in others. Ugh, get it right, weather gods
  5. Is anyone able to find if there are specific qualifying criteria to compete in the Open European Championships? https://assets.ctfassets.net/cz0vl36hcq0x/7mkQn1kQTB7VzlUZHAcuec/5e274d541df56fa56d49917f24b34ba0/3_Event_and_Competition_Rules_2022.pdf I can't, but we're not sure about it: they used to simply be part of the IBU Cup in a qualifying sense - if one could compete in the IBU Cup in the trimester of the OECH, the OECH were fine too. Now the question is whether or not that has been changed one or two seasons ago.
  6. This is the same article you posted earlier, and just like earlier, it still doesn't say that the Netherlands lifted all sanctions (as you claimed earlier) Read first, it helps.
  7. Excellent choice. I mean, nobody outside the tiny modern pentathlon community will actually care (or ever hear about this change), but it's still better than the riding-on-random-horses-nonsense
  8. I wouldn't say stupid, it's the one thing that makes Brazilian football kind of unique and that's cool
  9. Since Verstappen showed the world one of the most epic comeback races of the last 20 years in the pouring rain (and long before he was as dominant as he is now), leading to people singing 'Senna, Senna!' by the thousands when he stepped onto the podium, I find it rather easy to remember that specific one Not without reason that's one of the three 'Minichamps' models I have at home
  10. Antonin Hajek has been missing for well over a month, and there are quite some worries. Rumours say he was supposed to go to Asia, and a while ago a Czech person has been found dead in Malaysia, with no information about their identity being released yet due to the pending investigation.. https://www.reddit.com/r/Skijumping/comments/yn75gy/antonin_hajek_has_been_missing_for_a_month/
  11. Not remembering 2016, ouch. I do remember 2003, although I was quite young. I think that was the one where one after the other went off, giving Jos Verstappen a rare chance for a great result, until he ended up in the gravel in turn one?
  12. That was a fantastically fun sprint race
  13. With 10-15 degrees and little rain, it's a lot better here now than in the summer with 30+ degrees and burning sun, I'd say, but somehow people don't massively agree with that
  14. Yeah, it's no coincidence that a majority of cars with flags also carry a sticker with a big ugly 22 on it The main - or only - reason why I kind of hope Brazil does well at this World Cup: it might be the only chance in the foreseeable future to have the flags and stuff be linked back to football a bit more...not saying it will unlink it from Bolsonaro, but a Brazilian World Cup title might at least make the flags be a bit more about football again (even if it's not comparable to 'before'). I know, naive, but one can hope. The whole thing also kind of sucks (albeit not more than an annoyance of course) if you're a Brazilian athlete who wants to train in their national clothes, without showing political preference.
  15. Good to see I didn't miss it or something. Even with elections taking up everything, I had expected a lot more than a few international flags at a random gas station and a couple of green/yellow thingies at the counter of the supermarket
  16. How 'alive' is it in your countries at the moment? Here in the Netherlands there's not that much about it, other than some news about the team and such (but not a ton of publicity ads and stuff in supermarkets and shops, like it used to be a few years ago when you'd see orange coloured nonsense everywhere by now), and in three weeks in Brazil I also barely noticed anything other than a handful of green/yellow things in supermarkets and a bunch of Brazilian flags on cars and windows which mostly remain there to show support for Bolsonaro I was rather surprised at how invisible the World Cup seemed to be in Brazil so shortly before the start, even though I know the elections have been the main focus these past months.
  17. The advantage of having had a shitty season last year, meaning Haas was all the way at the back of the pit lane, so Magnussen could be the first one at the pit exit in Q3, and so be the first one to have a lap time while meters behind him the rain was falling more and more and so everyone else had a tad more rain to contend with than Magnussen did seconds earlier Wonderful piece of luck and grabbing one's very rare chance!
  18. Excellent, let's see how the kvinner have been doing this morning
  19. Do you happen to have the link to that quickly accessible? If not, I'll search myself
  20. These races are often posted on YouTube though, I believe, so just stay away from results for a day and it should be fine
  21. And NRK shows the Norwegian ones, but sadly it doesn't work with a VPN and without it you need to prove you're a Norwegian resident Hopefully someone will put it up on YouTube.
  22. She was frustrated that they didn't rush women's nordic combined into the program for the sake of equality only, without looking at level of competition?
  23. At least Portugal has scored high in the past as well, i can't help liking the language especially when it's a nice calm song
  24. NETHERLANDS "NEDERLAND" "NIZOZEMSKO" 1st GREAT BRITAIN 12 2nd BRAZIL 11 3rd SWEDEN 10 4th ITALY 9 5th SLOVAKIA 8 6th GERMANY 7 7th NEW ZEALAND 6 8th CANADA 5 9th FRANCE 4 10th UNITED STATES 3 11th EGYPT 2 12th IRELAND 1 Tot zover alweer de Nederlandse stemmen. We wensen iedereen nog een hele fijne dag, met een spannende finale! Wij pakken nog wat vlees van de churrasco en pakken een caipirinha! That's it already for the Dutch votes. We wish everyone a great day, with a nice and tense final! Meanwhile, we'll grab some more churrasco meat and get a caipirinha!
