  1. I agree. Although in that case it would be a matter of 'look, people know we exist now!'
  2. Well, not everyone. There's a lot of people who follow all of these sports and for whatever reason have their favourite athletes. As a Dutchman, I would gladly trade each and every Dutch medal won in Pyeongchang (alright, maybe except for Visser) for a gold medal for Noriaki Kasai, or Franziska Preuss, to name just an example. If a Dutch athlete is some annoying prick, always complaining about everything, getting in all sorts of trouble and whatnot, why on Earth would I want him/her to win? Just because of a flag? Alright, this is all getting way off-topic, but I had to answer Back to bobsleigh Go Melbardis!

  4. Yep, and for people caring more about random, 'colourless' athletes who just happen to have the same kind of passport over athletes who are the best kind of people, who have some story which would make them beautiful winners, and so on.
  5. But for fans I think it's better to see shared bronze than shared gold (apart from those who specifically like these athletes or just blindly cheer for anyone with the same flag), now we have to wait four years to really have 'the Olympic champion'. Actually, with Zubkov losing the 2014 gold and that one being vacant for now, we'll have a period of eight years without having someone who is the Olympic champion
  6. And another four years of waiting to see Kasai jump at the Olympics..
  7. Graphics not showing which position someone is in after the first X runs in the sliding sports is definitely one of my main annoying things of these Olympics
  8. Every nation can scrap their worst performance and with 3 jumps still beat Korea
  9. This is getting close
  10. I am very impressed by Tentea's performance here. Only 19 years old, Romanian (so one can think they don't have the best equipment at all), yet being very much competitive in the top-20
  11. Nice job on the fast updates all the time
  12. Poutala: - 4th at the world sprint championships - 4th, 4th and 4th in the 500m at the world single distance championships - 4th and 5th in the 500m at the Olympics
  13. Awful Olympics for our speed skating team.
  14. Gold for Norway would be just beautiful
  15. Not if you're going very fast, since it's way harder to hold on to that tight turn.
  16. 34.35 incoming for Mulder
  17. Come on Ihle. He has said he is so frightened of having the last inner lane here....
  18. Quick live bet: who will finish in last place? I'm going for Czech Republic, taking a gamble
  19. Gao, another 2022 Olympic gold medalist.
