  1. Actually it's very German-like to disregard the support of youth athletes, when you have 4-5 top stars for over a decade (in end 90s - 2000s there were Pechstein, Friesinger, Gabrecht, Völker, Niemann, Wolf who always made medals) or single athletes who dominate a sport and cloud the view on the lack of a good team results. You can see/saw similar things in football (end 90s/early 2000s), biathlon (after Neuner quit), cross-country, swimming (after Britta Steffen quit).
  2. That poor girl... how bitter is that? I refuse to imagine what it's like running with a broken arm.
  3. German Eurosport commentaors are way more competent and more fun to listen than those on public law TV (ARD/ZDF), regardless of the sport - at least to me.
  4. Sorry I don't see facts that support your thesis. But you have the right for your own opinion.
  5. Of course we don't. How could we? But it shows that even later BIBs have a chance to beat Dressen. Btw we do not see around 40% of the course.
  6. How would you say this when Svindal's +0.07sec with a huge mistake? Facts vs emotions?
  7. Peter Fill in German TV: Course is in top condition, wind's difficult but totally okay.
  8. Totally agree about schedulng issue. But we need to deal with it. I watch the events one by another, not parallel, so there's no real difference to me
  9. For people who watch sports apparantly for most of your spare time, you guys have a very thin skin. Winter sports is always about weather conditions. How could olympics not? Women's Slopestlye - yeah that wasn't fair. Rest difficult but as fair as possible under the circumstances.
  10. You're right, didn't think about that.
  11. As only one Russian woman is eligible, Argentina seems to have received a reallocation quota in the women's event: https://www.eleco.com.ar/deportes/ravenna-tambien-ira-a-corea/ The other should have gone to Kazakhstan.
  12. As said, the same then applies to all Skiing disciplines where every athletes had to start with skiers waxed by the same people, Track cycling etc. To equal preconditions and make the athlete with the best talent win, every athlete should then have the same coaches as they provide know how and tactics. I know, that this is unrealistic. But my point is: The Germans do not only spend lots of money in sliding sports (other countries do that, too), they have a lot of know-how among coaches and try to bring lots of youth athletes to sliding sports - from ALL of this, the medals result.
  13. Who is behind this? Well, you think Trump, Merkel and Macron called Bach (because he is German and all Germans like each other) and said "Please exclude Viktor Ahn and Kulizhnikov from Olympics, so we can humiliate the Russians"? That is ridiculous as no other country is more connected in international sports as Russia - look at Putin and Bach. The IOC tried to protect ROC as long as possible (look at Rio Olympics). Only when more and more evidence and information about Sochi came up, IOC wasn't able to keep this protection anymore.
  14. Of course, technological advantages are a main reason for success in all sliding sports. It's a matter of money and know-how. Same is true btw for waxing techniques in Cross-country and Biathlon. This might be unfair as countries start with unequal preconditions. But it is not unfair in terms of "against the rules".
  15. German conspiracy or what's your intention?
  16. If it was for political reasons: How would "the Russian hating western countries" gain political advantages from barring Russian speed skaters from a sporting event?
  17. Oh yeah, the Western world's only intention is to humiliate Russia - that's what you hear in your state-controlled media every day, right? Is there any sign of regret or hindsight in your media that the Russian sport governing bodies fixed doping tests over years and produced dozens of stipped medals? Millions of fans have suffered from exactly THIS! I am so sick of this propaganda and that the Russian government tries to push Russia in the victim's role. I really hope that as many clean Russian atheltes as possible can compete in Korea - they are the real victims here. But the villain is not the WADA or the IOC (the latter tried to protect the Russian sport as long as possible), it is the ROC and the Russian sport governing bodies which betrayed the rest of world over and over and over again.
  18. Don't get wrong: In my opinion, Bach is a corrupt villain who is not interested in sports or the athletes at all. And the IOC's information policy is a complete desaster. But if you take a look at this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Winter_Olympics_medal_table#Changes_in_medal_standings you'll see who really destroyed the Sochi Olympics.
  19. Given the declines by Italy and Germany (yet to be conformed by FIS) it's safe that SRB will get two spots reallocated.
  20. DOSB nominated a team of 153 (including 4 alternates for bobsleigh - 2 of which are non-official alternates) http://www.dosb.de/de/olympia/olympische-spiele/winterspiele/pyeongchang-2018/news/detail/news/mit_153_athletinnen_und_athleten_nach_pyeongchang/
  21. Germany will field a team of 12 alpines, which means that 4 quotas for Alpine Skiing are to be reallocated. Btw: For Cross country skiing only 12 of 19 quotas will be used.
  22. Yes. What I really hate about her is what she said after she was banned for doping. She said something like: 'Using performance enhancing drugs is like driving your car too fast. After you have been booked, everything is fine and you continue to drive'. No sign of regret, no sign of hindsight at all. Seeing her competing makes me just sick.
