Ok, hope now that doesn't become an excuse of not pairing them obviously at 16 they didn't have shoulder power, hopefully the Dronacharya award in our country actually means something.

Don't know if Pullella Gopichand would have the guts to abandon her daughter in favor of a strong pair
If it does happen they could be world beaters. With both of them having great defence and hard and jump smashes in them they'd eventually kill japanese and Chinese style of defensive doubles and make it more attacking like Men's Doubles.

India get 2 Gold n 4 Silver at the Asian Rowing Championships. If we send our team in World regatta events we surely can improve a lot. Just going for few events once in a while cant give us the desired result and harsh to blame the athletes about their results. Investing few more crores will surely help us qualify for Olympics more boats then ever. If we stick to only Asian events then we will get only 1 boat.

We have to learn from Thailand where the women are given full time contracts in team sports while men where funded for some time but didn't show promise. Look at their women's cricket, football and volleyball teams all have made it to the World Cup within 4 years of full time contracts.

Its not like we don't have in us to make a good team. Only issue is from young age we don't have systematic approach like fitness regime n tactical coaching. These 2 are the important aspect were we lack in international football. I myself was an ex footballer n know what we get in junior levels. We have just started with academies for juniors so it would take at least 5-6 years to grow up.

Sindhu is technically not good enough compared to top 10 players, she mostly wins playing the physical battle with her height advantage and athletic body, long reach, not sure why the coaches aren't able to improve her shot quality, backhand etc over years. Anyway she is the best we have in badminton.

Reversing the decision announced by Hockey India president Gyanandro Ningombam a few months back, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has struck a deal with the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), promising that India’s men’s and women’s hockey teams will participate in next year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Regarding Badminton, post-COVID struggles aside, Lakshya Sen is a super talent. He had already started winning tournaments (lower levels) in his first year in Senior circuit. So, I have high hopes from him. Apart from him, I think we have a host of players who would be in 20-50 ranking range. Basically, same as now.
In WS, I don't have much hopes on any of the youngsters. If you are still playing in Junior circuit at 18-19, it is a clear indication that you are not going to be the next superstar. Tasnim looks promising but not enough dataset to make a prediction about her.
MD seems to be our deepest category now. Satwik/Chirag are monsters. Arjun/Dhruv have been the only ones who gave some fight in both the ties in Sudirman Cup. Then, we also have Krishna/Vishnu pair who also seem promising.
In WD, we have 3 very good pais: Tanisha/Rutuparna, Ashwini/Sikki and Gayatri/Treesa. Ashwini has been our best WD player for quite some time but I don't think it makes much sense in pairing her with Tanisha or another youngster. Teams should be made keeping Paris in mind.
Considering that we have a decent pool of young doubles players, having decent XD teams is doable.
BTW, really disappointed at our performance in Sudirman Cup. Tanisha/Rutuparna won the trials ahead of Ashwini/Sikki but still didn't get to play WD. What is the point of having trials then? Srikanth/Sai are in horrible form. They both should seriously take a long break and return in lower tournaments to get some match practice. Also, what is this fascination of playing Singles players in Doubles. Couldn't Dhruv or Arjun played in XD? Ashwini/Dhruv even played a couple of tournaments together this year.

Nice to hear there is interested into that! I'm sure if you will all join and contribute it will become an amazing place for Indian sport fans.
I would need a person who would be the "admin" of the forum. Then of course you can all contribute, but an admin is needed to take some decisions, such as the name of the sub-domain, the structure, how to make the community grow etc. Is there someone interested for this position?

GB is not better than Argentina at all. British girls are strong physically but technically very inferior to our girls. Trust me, I watch these teams all the time. I would even say your girls are not worse than the british in individual technique.
If your team can keep up intensity you have a fair chance. But it's a big if.

Nope Mandeep was already on his way down and hence that push didn't get counted. Sreejesh was never inline and hence the penalty Stroke awarded.

Our fitness was found wanting and we didn't try to change the style of game. We didn't play 1-2 passes, Didn't try to slow the game, defending n moving out of D was pathetic. Imagine Coach had to tell boys don't attack rashly inside the D. If not for the rusher Amit we would have be starring at pathetic scoreline. Sreejesh too was not at his best.

Not that I support swapping Praneeth for Kidambi, but if we had done that Srikanth would have been 14th seed. Same if we had selected Lakshya, Sourabh, Kashyap or Prannoy. Any of them would have been the 14th seed. But, I don't think Praneeth's injury was serious enough to make this change.
