Apparently Canada had a rotten luck yesterday. Karl Slezak's horse slipped on a turn, was lucky to avoid a fall, but still had to pick up 20 penalties for crossing his tracks. Colleen Loach had a tack malfunction early on course, which explains the very slow time she posted.

Some great news for Thailand. Both Arinadtha Chavatanont (on Bolleybawn Prince) and Weerapat Pitakanonda (on Chateau de Versailles) reached minimum requirements at the short format in Strzegom. Of course, they still need to meet the requirements at a long format competition, and also Thailand needs the 3rd rider to form a team. For the moment, this is mostly terrible bit of news for both India and Hong Kong.
