  1. Gonna be a pretty dominant win in three sets.
  2. Here it is. This rain shower felt so extremely dramatic thanks to the epic background music. It's like it came out of some David Lean movie. My favorite minute of the Olympics so far.
  3. Americans scoring only 5 runs in 3 games is almost unbelievable.
  4. Great start for the Americans. Maybe they can wrap it up before midnight.
  5. World Champion Yulo missed out.
  6. And that's a wrap for Day 1. Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (84%) and Sabine Schut-Kery (78%) qualified out of Heat C. Current lucky loser pool: Hans Peter Minderhoud (Dream Boy) - 76.817% Carl Hester (En Vogue) - 75.124% Nanna Skodborg Merrald (Zack) - 73.168% Rodrigo Torres (Fogoso) - 72.624% Beatriz Ferrer-Salat (Elegance) - 72.096% Yvonne Losos de Muniz (Aquamarijn) - 70.869% ---------------------------------------------------------- Joao Victor Oliva (Escorial) - 70.419% Maria Caetano (Fenix de Tineo) - 70.311%
  7. Result of a near fall on the first pass, and then just numerous insecurities on the passes that followed.
  8. 84.3% for Jessica von Bredow-Werndl. And there is more in the bag.
  9. Henri Ruoste's horse spooked at the camera on the first diagonal and it was game over... So sad. He had a good chance of making the final.
  10. Wonderful test and reaction for Rodrigo Torres. Portugal nailed it today!
  11. Larissa Pauluis had to ride in pouring rain. Literally started and stopped during her test.
  12. Disaster for Spain now... Several expensive errors by Garcia Mena.
  13. Yes, Katrina! I was keeping a split screen on fencing all day and cheering for the Estonians.
  14. Heat B is completed. Dufour (81%) and Gal (78%) have qualified for the individual final. Current lucky loser pool: Nanna Skodborg Merrald (Zack) - 73.168% Beatriz Ferrer-Salat (Elegance) - 72.096% Yvonne Losos de Muniz (Aquamarijn) - 70.869% Joao Victor Oliva (Escorial) - 70.419% Maria Caetano (Fenix de Tineo) - 70.311% Inessa Merkulova (Mister X) - 69.457%
  15. She did it! Dufour breaks the 80% barrier. Passage and pirouettes were the highlights today. Could still show more in the extensions.
  16. This is turning into a big-time fault fest. Near piaffe refusal for Antonia Ramel, which brought her score down to just 68.5%. She hasn't scored under 70% in years.
  17. Only one medal match decided without the golden score.
  18. Edward Gal posted the new high score of the day aboard the son of Totilas - 78.649% Little underwhelming for Ferrer-Salat. Caetano broke 70% for Portugal, but is behind the two Latin American riders.
  19. Just tuned in for a water polo match to witness South Africa scoring against Spain. They are trailing 1:3 as we speak, with the first quarter almost over.
  20. Fry (77%) and Nilshagen (75%) qualify for the individual final from Heat A. Merrald (73%) goes into the lucky loser pool, while Losos de Muniz and Oliva also broke the magical 70%.
  21. Fault fests for Kim, Sado and Hanna. Poor Kazuki Sado probably had the worst ride of his life, scoring 8% below his SB. This means Oliva is still 2nd! And I see the Dutch judge (C) is already embarrassing herself with this piece of nationalistic sentiment.
  22. And once again the background music at the Olympics has to be 80s rock standards.
  23. What did Woods have for breakfast??
  24. McNulty hit the wall!
