  1. Very surprised Johnny Mellor isn't on there, maybe he's chancing his hand at the other EU ones. In terms of who'll get the OQT via London Marathon, I reckon Ghebresesilasie might just sneak it.
  2. Sent my votes which should finalise everything. Unlike everyone else I found it relatively easy to make up my 12, but my winner was very surprising (in terms of nation).
  3. This is turning into a shit show for , this time one of the favourites for the quota is gone early. Yes she had a tough draw but like Bevan she shouldn't be losing that badly.
  4. No entries is disappointing, we usually give these a crack and send a handful.
  5. This would be a big quota for us if we could get it. The sport has the potential to blow up over here in my opinion and the coverage the Bello brothers would get would help this on massively.
  6. Jack Buckner seems optimistic considering British Athletics is supposedly in financial ruins and he won't be in a job by then.
  7. That's a bad defeat for Bevan, wasn't the best of draws but thought he'd do better than that. Will be overwhelming favourite in the 2nd qualifier I'd assume.
  8. I won't be able to listen till later on this afternoon now, so I'll probably have my votes sent off my tomorrow (Tuesday).
  9. I might need a day's extension on the deadline, will try to get it done tonight if I can but I'll probably need Monday and potentially Tuesday to get my votes sent off.
  10. This is the same for everyone, as our federation stated there are no live updates.
  11. After losing the first round, Kieran McDonald beats Istvan Szaka 3-2 via split decision to progress to L16.
  12. Thea Lafond wins their first athletics world title in the women's triple jump with a WL of 15.01m!! If she replicates this in Paris she's a good shout at being on the podium.
  13. It just always seems that whenever I believe we have a decent shot at a quota you always think I'm being far fetched and that we have little to no chance of gaining. Yes I did misjudged the quality of the other countries in Water Polo, but I do believe in instances like this you've been a bit harsh about our chances (it's not just you though, there are a couple others who have harshly wrote us off in other events).
  14. I don't get why you think (as per usual it seems) we had little to no chance of winning a quota. Out of all the nations and athletes competing we had a decently strong team, with the likes of Barton and Norman being viable candidates for a quota during the build up. I'd even go as far as to say our top surfers had just as much of a chance as your surfers at winning a quota. Also, like I said earlier, I'm not slagging off Sky's performance for the entire competition as she did do really well, I'm more or less annoyed at how she performed in that heat as she didn't give herself near as many opportunities as she should of to challenge the top two. If she carries on in this vein, she'll be a favourite for a quota in LA from this event.
  15. This is a very infuriating quota to miss out on, you watch countless of heats for a week all to lose out on the very last heat. have performed well during these games, better than we have done for a long time, but it's still a very tough one to take considering the position we were in yesterday.
  16. Not over here it won't. Whilst it'll probably get coverage on Eurosport (which only people with a satellite subscription can watch), the BBC won't touch it as it'll be during their round up shows and they'll want to show the news after the action has ended as they won't be able to do so during the day due to the coverage.
  17. Thank god we've secured this one. I was getting concerned that we won't max out in sailing quotas, which would've been a disaster. Now all we need is the men's kite quota at the last chance regatta. Considering we bottled it completely in Portsmouth, we should be favourite to take one of the two spots.
  18. It's not about Sky Brown qualifying for 2 sports in Paris for me, it's about having representation in surfing at the Olympics. The media coverage it would've gotten would've been amazing for the sport over here and would've inspired people to take it up which would've been great for the future success of the sport in . This is no matter who it was as well, even if it wasn't Sky Brown. Now the sport will mostly likely not be mentioned at all, or at best used as filler for half an hour.
  19. I'm not saying she hasn't done well but when you put in a performance like that, for the second time this week, you can't not feel aggrieved towards it especially as it was so infuriating to watch. If she'd had completed as many waves as the others and still missed out, I'd have at least commended the amount of opportunities she gave herself.
  20. Absolutely pathetic from Sky Brown. She arsed about for 20 minutes and in the end ran out of time. I really thought we'd pick up a quota here and to miss out like we have done when we were close to having it in the palm of our hands is ridiculous. And it's not like we get a chance to improve at the top level either with the Champions Tour being closed off to the same surfers from the same nations every year.
  21. State of play on Women's side: ,x2,,,,,, and are still in with a chance of earning the last four quotas. is in a heat with 3 qualified/ineligible surfers, so she's got quite the task if she wants to get through her heat. , and are in a heat together so at least one of them will make it through. , and are in a heat together so at least one of them will make it through. And it most likely will be one as Carissa Moore is in this heat and it's highly unlikely she doesn't make it through. , and are in a heat together so at least one of them will make it through. However, if Olin and Moore make it out of their heats, fails to make it out of hers and the first makes it out of her heat, then the in this heat would effectively be classed as ineligible as would already have two qualifiers. There's a strong chance we could have all 8 qualifiers done and dusted by tomorrow. There's also a chance we could have to go into Saturday's Repechage 7, and another chance we could have a tie in placings for the last 1 or 2 spots.

  23. I think that could be the case. It could also be the fact that he hasn't go enough marathons under his belt to back up his time from last year, whereas Sesseman has.
