  2. as far as I know based on this ranking https://arena.uww.org/weight-category/show/1eedaad3-e13f-6270-a58e-8f200b10e386/print/rankings
  3. that quota goes to Ukraine I mean there are two scenarios how they reallocate it. a strong one and a weak one. in this weight in both scenarios Ukraine takes it. and @rybak Poland is going to take the 125kg quota. I'm almost sure of it. UWW is probably still figuring out how to deal with some weights. that's why they didn't contact NOCs yet. but these two weights look straight forward to me. ========================================= oh OK, I made a mistake here, nobody takes the 68kg quota, another Russian Elizaveta PETLIAKOVA is invited to wrestle instead of Khanum Valieva
  4. and keep in mind Poland has a Serbian coach. and lost to Serbia last year as well. I know Poland has a very deep squad and I'm sure Polish players will take both matches seriously but still . I think Serbia won the quota tonight. they won the direct quota match vs Cuba. which means they deserve it anyway
  5. looking at men's speed Q results, by my count those athletes didn't make it to the knockout round are mathematically out. we have 3 Indonesians fighting for 1 quota 3 Chinese climbers fighting for 1 and 10 more athletes trying for 5 quotas. their names with their previous round score Tkach (38) Alipour (35) Hammer (34) Maimuratov (30) Shin (29) Noya (26) Ilchyshin (25) Fossali (21) Yasukawa (12) Khaibullin (9) I think Maimuratov is pretty much safe with the fastest time in the qualifiers. even if he loses, 9th place will be enough for him (99%). almost no chance for the last two. so I say it's like 7 athletes for 4 quotas.
  6. that's too much to ask from our Archery federation they are terrible in administrative duties yesterday during the qualification men's recurve, our #1 and #2 (both in top 100 WR with slim chance to do something here) made a mistake and shot the first series of 6 shots in place of each other, both received zero for the first 6 arrows and therefore finished in last positions
  7. I assume they didn't decline the quota but failed to reach the MQS. same goes to the other Oceania archers but in this case what they are going to do with the quota ? awarding it to the next archer in FIQT (which will be our 16 yo kid ) or giving it to the ranking ? the rules say if reallocation happen before the FIQT that quota will go to the FIQT, and if it happens after the FIQT, the quota goes to the ranking. the Oceania qualification happened long time ago, before the FIQT but they are doing the process now, after the FIQT. so to me it can go both ways, depends on how they read their own rules. did I miss something ?
  8. after 15 defeats in a row (7 last year, 8 this year) Iran finally managed to win a match in VNL, surprisingly against the USA ! (also broke the 5th set curse) while it doesn't change anything competition-wise, that was a must needed win for their confidence, that would be the end of our volleyball program if we finished this with 12 defeats. now there is some hope that our team isn't that shit. and to be honest I think if they could pick up a win in the first week, they could be still fighting for the quota.
  9. WT is the worst international federation in term of publishing these kind of news, so we will probably never know until NOC's (those receiving the quotas) announce it but if they are going to reallocate those 4+1 RUS/BLR quotas it will be like this Minina (57W) ==> Hronova Gurtsiev (58M) ==> Korneev Khan (+67W) ==> Jahl Khramtcov (80M) ==> Takov Larin (+80M) ==> Georgievski I think it's pretty clear for the first 3. a little doubt about 80kg quota, Farzad Mansouri won the 3rd place match over Takov but he later awarded a free quota by King Tommy. they can give him the quota and letting him participate by that. (without adding anybody else to the list) but I assume the quota will go to the next ranked athlete Takov. as far Larin, Grand Slam quotas will get reallocated to the next eligible athlete in the World Ranking (January 2024) there are some other guys above the Macedonian but they are all either qualified or their NOC already qualified 2 more. I assume Georgievski was a strong candidate for the Wild Card too. probably won't need that anymore.
  10. not everybody is old enough to remember that WC Romania and Bulgaria were my favorite teams back then (behind Italy of course) . I was a kid and couldn't stay up after midnight to watch that match, I re-watched it in the morning without knowing the result and yeah the defeat was disappointing. but that was a hell of a match
  11. yep. he was supposed to finish 6th with 5 quotas available. 2nd time men's archers losing the quota match, this time 16 years old Mohammadi
  12. none. the event's final ranking which will be based on 1/4 final scores
  13. do we have classification matches to determine the 5th quota ? or they will use their usual ranking (between 5th to 8th) ?
  14. A total of 18 male wrestlers from Russia and Belarus qualified for the Olympic but considering IOC's recent announcement only 3 of them got the green light to participate. for 7 more IOC named someone else as replacement but IOC said nothing about 8 more quotas. indicating that those quotas might be reallocated. personally i really don't know how this works (and I assume nobody else knows) did Russia/Belarus sent a B list too ? and some of them didn't get the approval as well? I don't know if Russia/BLR sends a C list. is there chance for new names being added or not. but assuming nobody else will be added, I took a look to see who will get the quotas. in UWW competitions, when one of the finalists is disqualified whoever (among bronze medalists) lost to him will be upgraded to silver etc. but this is a special case, technically nobody got disqualified, it's more similar to rejecting the quota. so the quota should go to the next ranked athlete. no problem about the 2023 World Champs and 2024 WOQT. but for the European QT I had my doubts who is going to take the quota. but then when I looked at the rankings, they made it clear who is 3rd and who is 4th. so I assume there are not much doubt anyway Tytrin (57 FS) ==> Egorov Sidakov (74 FS) ==> Lu Zhabrailov (97 FS) ==> Archaia Khramiankov (125 FS) ==> Kosciolek Lalaev (60 GR) ==> Arnaut Kutuzov (77 GR) ==> Bey Maskevich (87 GR) ==> Gobadze Semenov (130 GR) ==> Ivanov it's kind of weird/stupid that someone wins a quota just because of having more CP (which usually means nothing) but that's how they calculate the ranking.
  15. Actually we do, because the exact same thing happened in 2016 and 2020 they did the other way in 2016 which made a mess. giving this quota to guy A and than took A's quota and give it to B ... but since 2020 they changed it a little bit , add few more words to the qualification document "not yet qualified" to make things clear. 2024 will be exactly like 2020. I have some doubts though, but that's in other weights, 74kg FS is pretty clear (if Russia is not able to send someone else)
  16. Finally after losing 6 quota matches already in different events. Fallah herself was involved in 4 of those losing quota matches.
  17. no both TRT Sport channels are covering something else today. Polsat Sport 3 is showing it live. no idea how to can find a live stream link for that channel
  18. after 8 months of absence, people were mostly worried about his situation, but surprisingly he looked very good and fresh in Hungary last week. in past 8 years he destroyed everybody not named David Taylor. he is the huge favorite now that Taylor is out. but of course nothing is guaranteed, he has 3 big opponents.
  19. not much, last 3 years had been tough for the country in general and I'm less optimistic than 3 previous Olympics. I don't think it will be a disaster like 2008 only because the wrestling team is pretty strong but all other sports are fading because of mismanagement and lack of money. it will be something between 3 to 9 medals in wrestling + probably 1 or max 2 (and maybe none) in other sports. so I say 6 medals
  20. I watched few matches from both teams in this VNL and I think Canada was clearly a better team this year but that doesn't matter, they lost the direct quota match and they can't complain. I think it was a tactical mistake going all out for a win against Japan yesterday. they weren't mentally and physically ready for another "fight" in less than 24 hours. it was sad watching Alexa Gray giving her interview to that FIVB guy while she was almost crying . but that's it, that's the beauty of sports. someone has to cry at the end, and sometimes both sides cry like today. now the qualification is done, let's hope Italy wins an Olympic gold finally , men or women
  21. but what if two archers from one NOC advance to the quarterfinal ? India for example If I read it correctly finishing in top 8 of the individual event is mandatory anyway. in that case the quota will be reallocated to the next athlete in the "individual ranking", not the 9th place in the FOQT, right ?
  22. https://www.canlitv.vin/trt-spor-yildiz-izle
  23. oh my Iran was about to take a 4-2 lead but Fallah ate the other girl's time (despite scoring a 10) and forced the last girl to simply release the arrow without aiming (which landed in a 2) and of course they could never come back from this this is the 3rd time Fallah is losing a quota match, (after the Asian Games and Asian qualifiers) probably another cry. this was only her fault.
  24. Yeah but still she has to win two knockout matches . and she has a bad track record of not controlling her emotions in crucial moments. back in Asian qualifier, in her last shot she was just a 7 (if I'm not wrong) away from the quota but completely blew it.
