  1. Haha, amazing race! Congrats to Austria and USA!
  2. Result? Was my prediction (gold for Laffont) correct? If so, then congrats to France. I am sorry for Australia, but also a bit happy, i bet 10 points that Australia won't win 3 medals or more in freestlye skiing.
  3. Results of the first training: Round 1: 1) Rydzek 54.8 2) Yamamoto 53.5 3) Frenzel 51.0 4) Riiber 46.9 ... 10) Watabe 39.8 Schmid DNS Round 2: 1) Riessle 71.5 2) Rehrl 71.3 3) Riiber 69.8 ... 5) Watabe 66.7 14) Rydzek 53.8 16) Frenzel 52.0 Schmiid DNS
  4. Results of the 3rd training: Round 1: 1) Takanashi 69.2 2) Vogt 68.7 3) Lundby 67.0 4) Ito 66.0 5) Kriznar 64.9 6) Althaus 62.8 Round 2: 1) Lundby 81.5 2) Kriznar 74.5 3) Vogt 70.3 4) Takanashi 66.5 5) Ito 65.9 6) Althaus 62.2 Vogt seems to gain momentum, while Althaus completely lost it. Now there will probably be a 6-way battle for the medals behind Lundby between Althaus, Vogt, Ito, Takanashi, Kriznar and Iraschko-Stolz.
  5. That's probably what he is thinking about you ... You seem to be obsessed by him ...
  6. The race seems to be pretty close: https://www.olympic.org/pyeongchang-2018/results/en/luge/result-men-s-singles-fnl-000300-.htm Looks as if the top 7 athletes are still in medal contention.
  7. Thanks, i know, it was a joke because of a comment by "Dennis" in this thread: http://totallympics.com/index.php?/topic/761-speed-skating-at-the-winter-olympic-games-2018/&page=26
  8. So no canadian sweep? My condolations. 4 different continents in top 6, name any other winter sport where that is the case ...
  9. Thanks, she is already 29 ... so i guess no. In ski jumping she would probably be called a junior, but in freestyle skiing most athletes of her age are probably retired for almost a decade by that age ... It is pretty interesting that in freestyle skiing, artistic gymnastics, diving, snowboarding and figure skating mostly very young athletes dominate, i guess that is also the reason why germany is shit in those sports, you have to train very hard from a very early age on.
  10. I just learnt that the german athletes don't get any public funding, so i think this result is good, is it safe to say that canadian athletes get a lot of funding?
  11. At the one hand i am happy that the german athlete finished 13th, on the other hand i am a bit sad that she missed the next round by only 0.9 points against a russian athlete. Two questions for the people who follow the competition: 1) Was it a fair result? How far would you say is the german athlete away from top 6, do you think she might ever get there? 2) How many athletes advance to the 3rd round? Can we assume that Laffont will make it? (I predicted gold for her)
  12. From now on it can only go downhill for Germany, of course unless ...
  13. Haha Windisch asking the other guys if he is allowed to jump on the podium already. Always refreshing to see new athletes on the podium, the joy of winning your first olympic medal probably can't be compared to anything else in sport.
  14. You never know, today Italy had two guys named "Andrea" and "Nicola" in men's 5000 m speed skating ...
  15. Apparently the day didn't start very good for Peiffer ... first his rifle broke, so he had to switch it and then he fell down the stairs or something and hurt his elbow ... Mark Kirchner apparently "predicted" the gold for Peiffer ... before the race he said that since Peiffer became world champion in 2011, everyone else (Schempp, Doll and Lesser) all won an individual gold, so it was time for Peiffer to again win something + he told Peiffer that when he (Kirchner) became world champion in 1991 he also had the BIB 22, like Peiffer today.
  16. We also have to note that 2 finnish athletes finished top 20 on the men's side, i don't think that happened too often in the last couple of years.
  17. Oh ... Lesser didn't seem too pleased about the Dahlmeier "hype" in an interview just now. He said "TeamD doesn't stand for Team Dahlmeier, but for Team Deutschland (= Germany) and i hope that people noticed that now". (#TeamD is the official hashtag of the german olympic team here)
  18. Not so fast, bobsleigh is still to come and if this will be another Sochi debacle, the mood in Germany won't be so good.
  19. Thank you very much! I think Boe will medal in the pursuit if he misses at most 4 shots. My prediction: Fourcade, Boe, some german
  20. Wouldn't mind if it would continue tomorrow ... but let's not forget that Loch might still lose. 2 out of Rebensburg, Peiffer/Schempp/Lesser/Doll in men's pursuit, Dahlmeier and Althaus (women's ski jumpin) should do it.
  21. Czech Republic with 2 medals after the first 2 races, i don't think anyone would have bet anything on that? You have to be happy for them, after they lost Soukalova.
  22. Peiffer ahead of Krcmar and Windisch who didn't see that coming? Will anyone get points in the prediction contest ... ?
