  5. I quite like the idea of having a 3 hour break. Gives us time to catch up with our normal daily routines. I’ll probably go shopping and prepare my dinner during that break with time to check on my cows
  6. I think it will be hard for Ireland to match the team of 116 athletes in Tokyo but it will largely depend on whether we can qualify in team sports again. In Tokyo we qualified in men's rugby sevens and women's hockey. Next time we have good chances to qualify both teams in rugby sevens, less confident about hockey this time but the women will be in with a decent shout. I am hoping we can continue the momentum we made in rowing in the last Olympic cycle and have a few solid medal hopes there again. I would hope both our medal winning crews from Tokyo will be as strong as ever in Paris and that we will have another couple of strong crews alongside them in our team. I am hoping for 6 medals in Paris and 2 golds (2 golds and 2 bronze in Tokyo) so let's see what happens in the next couple of years.
  7. Remember to send your votes to the host @Vektor by private message before Saturday 23rd April
  8. 1-1 in Gothenburg! This must be the biggest result in the history of Irish women's football and could be a crucial point in making the World Cup play-offs
  9. Ireland Ireland's entry in this year's Totallympics Annual International Song Contest will be Dublin singer-songwriter Gavin James. Having been considered for selection in previous Annual editions, Gavin has finally been selected to be the Irish representative for 2022 with his song "Greatest Hits". I hope you enjoy. 10. It still works. You need to click the “Source” button at the top left of your message and copy the embed link there.
  11. Hi @Mehmet. Thank you for your interest in joining our song contest. We have asked @Sindo to send a private message to you to confirm that you are the same user as our previous participant from Turkey @Memo so we can confirm your participation in the contest. I just thought I would post a comment here also in case you are logged out of your account and do not see the private message.
  12. Still think 13 spots for Europe is just too few... I know there needs to be universality and it's the largest portion of all the continents but it's getting harder and harder each time. Though I am just bitter that my country hasn't a hope in qualifying anytime in the next decades
  13. First time in Indonesia since 1997! The Indonesian public must be really hyped for this
  14. Even the timing line graph it was obvious. BBC called it straight away when they saw the graph that it was lane 8. And somehow they still went for 7
  15. Poor Perez, she will surely have been disrupted by that mess. Probably wouldn’t have qualified but she was very badly wronged there.
  16. This is a joke. Payton was the one who clearly false started.
  17. 17 years old Nick Griggs just ran a 3:56 mile indoors It's a Euro U20 record. He also won European U20 gold last year over 3000m at the age of 16. Crazy to think we could finally have another potential track star from Ireland after so many years. https://twitter.com/Cathal_Dennehy/status/1502042251861676037?s=20&t=5RiUnMwLMLzblFj3jSGusAhttps://twitter.com/Cathal_Dennehy/status/1502042251861676037?s=20&t=5RiUnMwLMLzblFj3jSGusA

  19. From a personal point of view, I do lose some of the excitement also when the contest becomes more drawn out. And I think it’s just natural, you are more fatigued when it comes to the final. So I would be one of those members whose momentum is lost even though I wouldn’t miss a deadline. The basic structure we voted for in the past to counter this fatigue was to have a streamlined 2 weeks for registration / song selection; 2 weeks for voting; 2 weeks for the host to prepare the show. And that’s not a strict structure, but a good guidance. Many times the host may need longer to prepare and I am always fine with that. I would rather give more time to allow them to prepare the voting templates and the final. So if we are going to add more time on to have a registration period and a selection period then we are looking at a very long event and from our collective experience I think it is more draining on everyone. Some times like in this occasion, the selection period is extended for understandable reasons and I think we are generally ok with that. I don’t know, I can’t speak for everyone though so would be happy to hear from anyone who wants to share their own views.
  20. There used to be a case where we had registration period for a couple of weeks before the entry window opened (which still allowed registrations of course) but users clearly voted against that previously as we felt that momentum was being lost and that a long drawn out registration and selection period was resulting in more withdrawals as some users lost interest or other things took over their lives. I think the balance has been better since then and we have certainly had fewer withdrawals since that has been more streamlined. I think there’s no need to over-complicate things. I do want to offer some protection to jury members from multi-member juries as currently a user from their nation could randomly show up in the first days and choose the song with no debate with their fellow jury members. And I don’t want to create too many rules or deadlines either. We need some balance. As usual it’s not always easy to find a 100% perfect solution but I definitely see some problem in the current set up.
  21. I haven't decided on the final wording yet but it could be along these lines:
  22. It's a fair point, and in honesty I should have had something like that in the rule book long ago. Sorry to hear about your issue @vinipereira, all I can say is that I will correct this issue starting from now and I am sorry that this happened
