    The Netherlands will qualify for two riders in the MTB event. It’s up to him whether he wants to take one of those positions. I would say it’s likely Obviously the Netherlands have final say who goes, but he’s their best chance of a medal there so if he wants it, he’ll be there.

    I’d point out that Ellen should have been 12th overall but for some iffy DSQs (IMO). Still a terrific performance to be 12th in the world at anything!

    I genuinely think 7 men could medal in the 800m. Sorry Costa. If Wellbrock was in ahead of him, I’d probably say all 8 could medal! Obviously I’m hoping for Wiffen but it’s going to be really tough

    She may have had a time earlier in the season but Swim Ireland will only accept times from certain meets so Mona McSharry was only officially added today in the 100m breast stroke
