  1. We waited four years for another major championship medal. The silver from Airinė Palšytė is a wonderful achievement for our athletics
  2. What an impressive achievement for our Javelin Thrower - Liveta Jasiūnaitė, whom prior to winning a bronze medal in U23 European Championships thought about ending her career. Things are really looking up for her
  3. Getting into scandals, fighting and arguing with our federation through the media instead of actually replying to messages that she got on her e-mail. Basically, she thought that her funding was cut off, because she got pregnant and instead of replying to old letters that she got on her e-mail, which explained that that was not the case at all, she took that to the media and there was this article that Lithuania doesn't care about her and that she's useless now that she got pregnant and of course being the children that our federation is, they made fun of her on their Facebook page publicly. After that, she got in an argument with her long time coach in Spain and I believe she even tried to train on her own for a moment. So I'm really wondering if she'll be jumping beyond 14 meters any time soon.
  4. I just really hope that she'll be able to come back to her level after that. She already did some stupid things throughout her career (not talking about the pregnancy here) and I believe she had a falling out with her long time coach in Spain.
  5. *A couple of years after her silver (was what I meant) Whole Lithuania thinks that it's a shame she met Kilty and there was this huge scandal with our federation about her pregnancy. She can meet all the Kilty's she wants, but she could've waited after Rio at least with the pregnancy thing
  6. Small error, mixed it up, because she won gold in European U23 a couple of years later.
  7. Top 12 results from Europe are automatically qualified to semi-finals, which is the case for Schippers in 100m.. Also, she chose not to start in 200m
  8. Well, she's been plagued with some injuries. Actually all of her career is just one big rollercoaster of unluck. She clocks 2:01.00 gets injured, doesn't perform for 2-3 years, clocks under two minutes in the Universiade, gets injured again and still hasn't came back after that one. Speaking of injuries, we sure have been getting a lot of them. Another 800m. runner was qualified, but got injured a couple of weeks ago, Grinčikaitė got injured a couple of weeks ago, but she'll be starting, then our 400m. Hurdles runner Staišiūnaitė started a gofundme page where she got the necessary funds to prepare for Rio, got injured and will be out till next year, plus our 100m hurdler Tamošaitytė, Gudžius started in our national championships one week ago after a severe injury, even Palšytė had problems and the European Championship is only her second competition this season. + Our youth world champion tripple-jumper got pregnant, which really stretched our small team. And answering your second question, Balčiūnaitė might not go to Rio, because she expects much more of herself and mentioned in an interview that there would be nothing to do there with a time like this.
  9. Seeing her struggle was indeed a surprise. She might redeem herself in Rio though
  10. For our team, three passed, three eliminated and one soon to be eliminated.
  11. Pretty dreadful afternoon session for team Lithuania. No one performed up to expectations and Giedrė Kupstytė is definitely not finishing anywhere close to top 12 in shot put, so I can just reflect back on how beautiful the morning session was
  12. Looking at the poor results, I'd say Veldakova might be safe.
  13. Yeah, that's pretty disappointing
  14. Serbia is having a great championships on day 1 Group 1 needs to get their stuff together, never seen so many round 1 no jumps.
  15. That's a very unfortunate turn of events for Tero Pitkamaki, now he can only hope he qualifies to the final.
  16. A brilliant start for team Lithuania in the championships with Airinė Palšytė making the final in the high-jump, Zinaida Sendriūtė qualifying to the final in the discus and Rytis Sakalauskas making the semi-final in 100m. We won't probably be so successful in the afternoon session.

  19. Bestmen, chill. Eventually we will run out of European countries that want to host I, for example, would have never found the confidence to make a bid at organising a TISC, but it so happened that our song won the competition and I guess I felt responsible to host a show (even though I wanted to for a long time, but it just seemed like so much work that I was not capable to do). Also, there were multiple times when the host declined the hosting rights and we made bids and there were not that many non-European countries that would bid to host the contest.
  20. 1. B I'm not 100% sure on this rule, that's why I would love to have another contest like that to see how it goes. 2. A As it was mentioned before, there were a couple of times that the winner of the contest has not accepted to host and therefore there were bids on who would host the contest. But perhaps it would be interesting to try with 1 contest that the winner has the right to host it and the other could be about bids to host it, I don't know

  23. Nothing too special in the second day, Eva Misiūnaitė was close to qualifying to EC in 200m. with 23.79 and Domantas Poška threw the discus 62.47 (Born in 1996, so still fairly young). Zinaida Sendriūtė first time this year managed to reach 60m. in discus.
  24. Rytis Sakalauskas 100m. 10.29 (SB, European Championship Standard). Also, there was a huge storm, wind, clearly not the best conditions for good results.
