  1. Days -2 & -1 are always important days because New graphics to discuss Vital early practice with TV & other remote controls. Not getting those split-second moves nailed down early can mean missed gold medals in Week 1! Chance to watch & discuss team sports you won’t have time to watch later
  2. Am currently in Bruges, Belgium Normally one of Europe’s busiest towns. This year it’s different.... 70% are Belgians, Europe’s Leper Colony: here because no-one else will let them go anywhere 20%, most stocking up on crates of good beer & 9% Me All slavdom: 2 Russians I showed how to open the Swimming Pool door (« Карточка номера надо! ») : 0%. Literally don’t think I’ve seen a single one.
  3. Made this joke before, but a Francophone nation is one where their aristocracy hired french-speaking nannies for their children.* But yeah, ever since the birth of Romania as a country they have always looked to France as a cultural inspiration, so as not to be confused with all their mad Slav & Magyar neighbours.** * Unfortunately they always ended up sleeping with the husband, so eventually got replaced with English ones. This is exactly what happens in Anna Karenina. ** Although they use lots of Slav & Magyar words.
  4. Tough to watch from MY. Solid first leg, did not improve in the second.....still dead last! Think I’d be looking to write this year off, clear out the dead wood & give the youngsters a chance now.
  5. Just all very sad.. Months of lockdown at the critical time did not help. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8538041/Australian-figure-skater-Ekaterina-Alexandrovskaya-worked-stripper-death-Russia.html
  6. Yeah, people in the West forget that in the early days of doping, (ie post Montreal 76) the other East European nations also fell a long way behind CCCP & DDR.
  7. Took them a while to work out that there weRe no barriers to bodyslam into, but after the first few games.....
  8. After almost four months I finally got some swimming done here in my political asylum. . Can’t tell you how much though, was one of those strange hotel pools. I am generously guessing 10m, so that was 1km. Actually probably only 635m. Now to celebrate met trappistenbier ? & frietjes! ?
  9. It was called long-ball theory. Thankfully short-lived.
  10. Another sad one - young Russo-Australian figure skater Ekatarina Alexandrovskya. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8536417/Former-world-junior-skating-champion-Alexandrovskaya-dies.html#comments
  11. Charlton’s method was always bang it forward at every opportunity & don’t bother with midfield. Obviously it didn’t always work against good players.
  12. Hmm. Obviously popular in Ireland....but I’d nominate IRE 0 NOR 0 in USA 94 as the single worst World Cup game ever played - including West Germany - Austria in 1982.
  13. I may very well be the only man in the world to know this, but in Brussels there is a whole shopping mall that is nothing but nail bars! Fair enough I suppose - some bars (ie bar-type bars) sell 600 kinds of beer, so both sexes are fully catered for. A fortune awaits the first person to bring both together. Now I’m in trouble!
  14. 2020 World Surf League cancelled.... ....2021 World Surf League starts in November in Hawaii.
  15. Athletics in the 2020s will be a repeat of the 1990s. We already have Fiona May’s daughter, Erki Nool’s son, Virgilius Alekna’s two sons, Tomas Dvorak’s twin daughters....
  16. Sorry, that was a farce. There’s no way Raspberry Racers should have been allowed to bring in a substitute for the Final after getting a runner injured in finishing the semi. Fair enough, the marble had earned a 4th place finish, and deserved the points, but bringing in a fresh roller after the other marbles had already run two races.....not really what top class international Made-for-YouTube sport is about. Hope there’ll be an appeal & the judges can reconsider overnight.
  17. I like the Washington Yellows. Or Yellowbellies.
  18. They love all your Telenovellas! Absolute true fact, not joking. But why Mongolians like Norway.....
  19. But the good news is that the local Covid outbreak is over, then.
  20. French most want to go to Belgium. At least they are being realistic. Will be a mess if they all turn up at once. We Belgians all want to go to the UAE, but cannot even go to Luxembourg!
  21. How important is it to remember that all these people - the subject of the statues, the builders, those who paid for them - were 95% Democrats? That all the white supremacists were Democrats? Because you seem strangely reluctant to mention that.
  22. Change all the names, Take down all the statues Release all the criminals Get rid of all the Police ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Brighter future for the country. I’d like more information about steps 5-14 before I sign up.
  23. First podium for Mellow Yellow .... ....but still a dreadful 2nd last.
  24. Croatian language article about the Polish election, this is quality. Just to keep you on your toes, here’s what we Antwerpenaars think about it. https://www.hln.be/nieuws/buitenland/met-bijna-alle-stemmen-geteld-leidt-duda-poolse-presidentsverkiezingen-met-51-21-procent~a044b0fc/
  25. Beach volleyballers certainly get all the glamour destinations, don’t they?
