  1. Don't think so. Lot more commentaries available today.
  2. That absolutely used to be a standard tactic up until back in the 1980s. I remember seeing it happening in a Tour of Croatia about 7 or 8 years ago, but never since then.
  3. Don’t think the Austrians even have a team there: she’s on her own, there’s no soigneur to help her.
  4. First Austrian winner not to wear a handlebar moustache.
  5. Austria’s first cycling Gold Medal since……1896! 126 Years of Hurt.
  6. If anyone had “Korean Archery Ladies” on their Olympic Certainties list….
  7. Slalom canoeing is an excellent way to test the picture quality of your providers’ streaming service.
  8. He has an absolutely textbook physique for a modern swimmer. I bet someone has talent-spotted him & trained him up.
  9. Wow! That guy is all arms & legs, bet he was head-hunted as a swimmer.
  10. You have to time your last stroke just right, his head was in front, but not his arms,
  11. James Cracknell hinted they had messed up the altitude training.
  12. Have been checking a lot of ES streams this morning. Good news is that 90% are working. Where there are multiple streams for a single event like gymnastics, you get at least one that has comms, but not every single bit of apparatus does. Ditto for table tennis, badminton etc. A lot better than yesterday.
  13. This is already going down in Canadian sporting folklore as the equivalent of the 1986 Red Sox / Mets Games 6.
  14. This morning it went off and I clean slept through it! Woke up about 90 minutes too late "You missed your alarm" Took me about three hours to catch up with live.
  15. No, as I say, there are any number of generic Aussie, New Zealand etc comms doing 3x3 basketball, beach volley etc. In fact BBC has shown some of them which ES did not have. If you check the little info options button it sometimes says just Ambient Sound ie no sound - but also Ambient Sound, English, French, Serbian etc. In those cases, there is a comm available somewhere, but it’s just floating in space & ES can’t find it.
  16. Seemingly there are comms for many of those feeds - maybe not every single table tennis match, but certainly football, medal finals etc - but ES are having a technical ‘mare getting them all working. Things did seem to improve towards evening Japanese time, so we’ll see tomorrow.
  17. Hope there is not going to be any talk of postponing the surfing just because the winds are too high?
  18. Rowers were poor, as we have already discussed. Swimmers look to be where they were a few weeks ago - generally the best in Europe, but an unknown quantity against & . Definitely medals to be won though.
  19. beating up something cruel at the moment.
  20. This is funny. South Korean TV network MBC’s coverage of the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony on Friday went awry when it used what it has now admitted were “inappropriate” photos and captions to refer to countries competing in the games. The broadcaster drew the most ire on Twitter after it showed a photograph of Chernobyl — the site of the 1986 nuclear power plant disaster ― as Ukraine’s athletes entered the National Stadium, reported Agence France-Presse. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/tv-station-inappropriate-tokyo-olympics-ceremony-captions_n_60fbe7dce4b0d017f834cfff
  21. It's starting to look like it. Our form in 2018-19 was not good, it looked as if the COVID break had done us some good, but plainly the last two months' preparation has not gone well.
  22. Three run in the top of the 6th going to seal it up for Japan 5-0
  23. Catching up.....Saw the early innings of Aus / Canada, which were epic, close of USA Mexico, now a bit of JPN / ITA - still very tight.
  24. Plus not accidentally shooting it off.
  25. Finally start their - or if I may say - our Olympic Campaign. Third in his heat, not bad at all. Promoted to second, Tongan DQed! Brought great honour to the nation.
