  1. According to my calculations, in men's +1, moved up do D.1, 2nd ski jumper for and demoted to D.2, -1.
  2. We had the first Grand Prix competitions this weekend in Courchevel, including the new High Five format on Sunday. High Five is a competition where ski jumpers are divided into groups of five using the serpentine system based on the quali or previous competition results - two best of each group and 4 or 5 lucky losers (women and men respectively) move forward to the second round. For the final classification, only the score in the second round counts. It's quite rough around the edges, not easy to follow in the TV broadcast, and will be tested once again next week in Wisła. Nika Prevc won on Saturday while Abigail Strate did so on Sunday, likewise Marius Lindvik and Niklas Bachlinger. I think Slovakia had one of the best weekends ever. Hektor Kapustik was P28 and P17 , while his younger sister Kira Maria P28 was and P27. And don't forget about Tamara Mesikova with P22 and P23. Slovakia is very close to having at least one ski jumper in each gender at the Olympics. @hckošice Frida Westman had a solid proper return to scoring points with P15 and P16. To finish the update, on the men's side lost its sole provisional quota for now thanks to Raimund claiming the yellow bib by coming second twice.
  3. It will be few days after the last ski jumping event at the Olympics. Nothing to worry. Only some sponsors won't be happy and the B team that will go to the Continental Cup.
  4. The rules are stricter this time around than in 2022. Back then, the average for Slalom or Giant Slalom was 160 FIS pts instead of 120 and there was no requirement for 30 classified men or 20 women for anything below Continental Cups/Universiade/Junior Worlds in these 2 events.
  5. There is no such a rule in the alpine skiing. You just need good results on average and you can start in the Olympics. FIS updated their provisional quotas today and Uruguay is in. Even with the penalty for not enough counted results.
  6. The season 2025-26 started in the South America with Chile Winter Series. One of the skiers who took part in is Nicola Pirozzi from Uruguay. He changed his nationality from Chile before the previous season but did not compete at all. His 51.67 FIS pts in the 2nd Giant Slalom give him a very good chance to qualify for the Olympic Games. It would be 's first winter appearance since the only one so far in Nagano in 1998.
  7. Russians and Belarussians have their FIS points frozen. And they would be the only ones eligible to fight for some of those 10 spots for NOCs not yet qualified. With the permission to start in the 1st period of WC expanded to 800 FIS pts, we've got 13 more countries among women and 15 among men.
  8. Does anyone remember if this rule was also last time around or is it something new?
  9. The Pre-Olympic Qualification Event will take place in Aberdeen on 7–11 October.
  10. Looks like we got some nationality changes that might result in new Olympic Qualification: Winston Tang to https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/v2/quota/eligibility/owg/al/2026?nation=GBS&gender=M Pietro Tranchina to https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/v2/quota/eligibility/owg/al/2026?nation=MAR&gender=M
  11. The 2025/2026 ISMF Provisional Calendar is out here http://www.ismf-ski.org/webpages/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/ISMF-season-2025-26_provisional-calendar.pdf The final competition counting for the Olympic qualifiers will be in the in Solitude (near Salt Lake City) on 6-7 December.
  12. Głazunow, a finalist in the men's C-1 from Paris, hints changes to the qualification system for the 2028 Games. Source: https://sport.tvp.pl/86704534/ps-w-kajakarstwie-polacy-w-szegedzie-wystapia-bez-czolowych-kanadyjkarzy EDIT: ICF launched new Canoe Sprint World Ranking system that will be the base for the qualification: https://www.canoeicf.com/news/icf-launches-new-canoe-sprint-world-ranking-system
  13. True, I forgot to drop second worst results before adding the theoretical 200 points for those outside top 4.
  14. With 1 more (according to Elantkowski's ig post) mixed relay to go, has secured the continental quotas, so did with the 3 of 6 remaining quotas. seems to be very close to do so. and have swapped for now while stayed between them in the race for the last 2 quotas. For the Americas quotas, had the edge for a while but the penalty in the latest competition has reduced their advantage over to just 1 point . There are 2 sprints left and has secured the quota in the men's one.
  15. "Good" news for you, FIS updated the reallocation queue. It is now simply the Round 4 of the "remaining quota places" as it is stated in the qualification rules, not the continuation where it stopped previously. Brazil moved up in the queue up to 19th spot for women.
  16. It comes down to what is taught in Poland about the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. The Union of Lublin isn't shown as unfavorable for Lithuania as it really was. A lot of the southern territories of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was "given" to Poland but it was actually stolen by Poles, the Polish language overpowered the Lithuanian one among the elites, the common coin was Polish-based. At one point, the PLC starts to get treated like one big country, with Vilnus as one of the major cities of Poland. The Vilnius University shown as an important Polish university, Mickiewicz calling Lithuania his home while writing in Polish, etc. The whole stuff after the World War One is barely touched in the high school when barely anyone cares about history anyway, I guess most people don't even know it. With this lack of the knowledge, Vilnus is one of the lost Polish cities, just like Lviv. The current animosities are down to the early 2010s and Grybauskaitė being the president of Lithuania - when there was the increase of the Lithuanian subjects taught in the Polish schools, troubles with Polish surnames, places' and streets' names. The Polish hooligans were also quick to pick it up. To be honest, Lithuania isn't looked down at but people don't understand why Lithuania has the right not to like Poland.
  17. got the 2 quotas because a skater can't get more than 16 points in the free skating even if they finish lower than that. With the other one being in the 12th position, Switzerland got exactly 28 points needed to qualify 2 skaters via the World Championships.
  18. Most likely 3 or 4 nations will be left with nothing, depending mainly on the results of the Canadian pairs.
  19. It's more about China/Andorra swap inside/outside top 20. China now gets 2 quota places instead 1 before Brazil gets their first one.
  20. It does for women. 1 basic quota + 2 quota places for 11th-20th place is the same. But the allocation of the remaining quota places ends at 16th place for women as of today, with Poland gaining one more spot while Ukraine none.
  21. Sweden with a great surge after 6th place yesterday. Moved up from 13th to 9th with 203 points, despite the OMRRL standings at the ISMF website saying something else.
  22. Poland overtook Ukraine for the 16th place in the women's standings yesterday. Nobody from these countries starts today so it's Poland that is the last country with 4 quota places confirmed.
  23. Both men from that team quit jumping and the only ones left are not good enough to compete internationally.
  24. The "Next eligible NOC per stage" table shows only the next 3. Slovakia (Jagerčíková) in women's singles is sixth in the line now.
