  1. Well, half of this is not true. There is no minimum nation count - even less nations were expected by FIS ski jumping higher-ups than there are qualified now. The last 4 quotas for men are for NOCs with one or none athletes qualified. So we should complete 3 super teams and get China with one ski jumper in the men's individual competitions.
  2. I think they have noticed because there is no update after the competition today. Bad timing because Japan is down to three male ski jumpers and only Austria and Germany are left with four. China "got back" their sole male quota and the potential mixed team.
  3. It looks like a problem at the FIS website. The same problem occurs in their cup standings tab where the points don't add up for some reason: https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/ski-jumping/cup-standings.html?sectorcode=JP&seasoncode=2026&cupcode=COC&disciplinecode=ALL&gendercode=M&nationcode=
  4. pair Danilova/Tsiba hasn't fulfilled the national criteria to participate in the Games but their skating federation has sent a request to the national olympic committee for an exception and to include them to the TeamNL. https://www.schaatsen.nl/nieuws/knsb-dient-verzoek-in-voor-olympisch-startbewijs-danilova-tsiba/
  5. Final SOQCs are here if anyone is still waiting and checking the ISU communications page. Compared to the lists on the wikipedia and the World Cup standings, Yakubovskiy is missing 20 points from Hamar in the men's mass start. And the host quotas weren't moved up in the time rankings from the reserve lists to the last qualifying spots.
  6. Sochowicz has clearly underperformed so far this season. I hope he picks up the pace soon and we should join the team relay event.
  7. The last one was Emmanuel Chedal in Lillehammer 2009.
  8. No, it's not that. In speed skating alone we still have at least 3 medal contenders - Semirunniy at 10,000m M (our biggest hope), Żurek at 500m and 1000m M, Ziomek-Nogal at 500m W. Kania at 500m M and Wójcik at 500m W are also capable of being near the podium on their good days. Other than these, we count on the mixed relay in the short-track and snowboarders in Parallel Giant Slalom.
  9. ITF will rebrand to World Tennis soon too if I remember correctly.
  10. And the final sprints of the qualification period were held today. The quotas among men go to: 2025 World Championships: Olympic Sprint Ranking List: And among women: 2025 World Championships: Olympic Sprint Ranking List:
  11. I wish it was the same for women's competition. But due to the limited space, FIS forced their way to host them in Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.... Otherwise the men's competitions would have been cancelled.
  12. She came back at the end of the last season. During the break, she gave birth to 2 kids and it looks like she got her fainting under the control.
  13. We can add another nation to the men's competition as Thomas Weir reached less than 120 FIS points average in the slalom.
  14. FIS points are up and he's through. Also in Dubai, Rafael Mini is very close to secure the first qualification for his country for these Games. He needs <= 120.59 FIS points tomorrow.
  15. No, it didn't change and it's pretty stupid system. Although reading the Q&A about the AIN skaters, while feeling less sick than yesterday, makes me think there will be only one skater in the short track per gender from a suspended country, doing all the distance even if they don't earn the quota themselves but they will be the highest in any SOQC.
  16. Points of different skaters from the same country are not added. It looks like only one from Russia/Belarus will earn a starting place in a distance and the others will be skipped like the 4th athlete from any other country.
  17. We are still very pro-Ukraine. There is rising pseudo-neutral anti-Ukraine, anti-EU and anti-Israel populistic party but it still has no power, they only bark loud and the social media make it look bigger than it actually is.
  18. Only Germany left with any real chance to make it to the Team Event. Finland and Australia way too far away from top 5.
  19. They are not related and yes, Semeniuk is a surname with the Ukrainian origins. The south-eastern part of Poland, the Eastern Galicia with the city of Lviv where the Ukrainian Semeniuk was born, before WWII was mostly Ukrainian. After WWII many people from that area migrated or were moved to the western Poland.
  20. Only 20 days from March, the rest from the day of the decision. They can't compete until early November so they just skip the rest of the summer and return for the World Cup.
  21. Entries for the qualifier are out https://www.isu.org/events/owg-figure-skating-qualifying-competition-2025
