Big day today. So excited for our women’s quadruple Sculls (the men have a genuine chance as well!), triathlons of course finally going ahead, Jake in the gymnastics and the canoe exploits continue. Charlotte fry starts her bid for individual gold (and a GB push for team medal)

Just on my way home from the swimming Arena - what a night. WIFFEN was absolutely incredible (very emotional in the stadium) when he embraced his family including his brother. Followed up by the relay squad, I may have lost my voice from screaming but what a team. Lots of Brit support in the building. other notes; Marchand looks like he will walk the 200m breast and Milak looked dominant in the 200 fly

Glamourdale shortly in the dressage, can she challenge for gold ( I’m hopeful)… edit: the first round is split over two days and she goes tomorrow I think 🤣🤣

Is anyone crystal clear on the final procedure ? from my memory it’s either 15 or 25 shots before first elimination, then 5 more Shots until the next one and so on. ties decided by countback (which I believe is the order of the shoot off)??

Lucy hall misses 3 shots very early on in round 2. Makes it v tough to qualify now

Trying to temper expectations given they were not a fancied crew coming into the event. Both races went the same way; they got out hard and then got overhauled in a sprint. Will be tough to get the better of NZ and Romania; but behind them the bronze battle between the other 4 crews looks wide open.

Think at this point 25 is high highly likely to get him straight in. 24 would be shoot off territory and 23 I expect he would miss out. hold your nerve…. 🤞

Great row by the women’s double sculls to get into the final! Just edged out by Romania in a sprint to the line. a medal isn’t impossible; quite an open event

Over the five rounds I think really you can only afford potentially a max 4 misses to get into the top 6, so it’s high pressure. Even that may be 1 too many. Good start for Lucy

biggest threat yes but not sure where they are going to find 2 other strong legs from after Hobson and Foster, and I'm not convinced Foster is dropping another sub 1m 45 clocking

I'm still waiting to be told who is beating GBR in the 4x200.... just more and more hurt for GB with these finishes. Freya not quite good enough on the night, and got to feel for Duncan, and even Matt - I thought he had it at the wall.

I don’t think that’s quite right. GBR can claw back ground on the floor at the end… they need to be clean on high bar and parallel bars though

You’re absolutely correct - count back rule seems to only come into effect to determine the precise order in the finals (top 6) from what I could find anyway:

I think it’s just the website making it seem complicated. 5 rounds of 25, with top 6 going through to the final. For ties there seems to be a count back system whereby basically if you’ve made more consecutive hits since your last miss than your rival, you’re placed ahead. hales is on 73/75 (I believe the last 2 rounds of qualifying are tomorrow). And the leader is on 74 so it’s very close.

Skiffs are really nowhere. Has the windsurfing started? I think cowling is out of it in the shooting and Hales just out of the top 6 on countback after 3 rounds

Emotionally I think I had already "parked" the Gold after the French were finished Still close in the individual, let's keep fingers crossed one of them can jump clear and who knows!
