Surreal's Achievements

  1. BRONZE! for Niall Treacy at the short track World championships in the 1000m First World short track medal for GB since Elise Christie won triple Gold in 2017. Treacy also finished 5th in the 1500 yesterday.
  2. Great result for Freddy but so disappointing for his brother. Luca led the first heat and was 2 seconds(!) clear half way through his second run before his DNF. Should've been a double podium for the Carrick Smiths.
  3. British 200 free record of 1:54.98 for Freya Colbert in Edinburgh! She's now the 3rd fastest swimmer so far this year, great to see her continue progressing after just missing out on a medal in this event at Worlds last year.
  4. Entries for the Edinburgh swim meet can be found here: https://swimswam.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/draft-programme-for-web.pdf Peaty's first Long Course races since the Paris Olympics! All other GB stars are present too (apart from those competing in the NCAA). Some of them (Morgan, Dean, Colbert etc.) are coming straight from 3 weeks of altitude training in Arizona so it'll be interesting to see where they're at. I think most will then compete at the Giant Open in France next weekend.
  5. For reference, the Cross Country WJC results can be found here: https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=CC&eventid=62427&seasoncode=2026 And the Alpine skiing results over here: https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=AL&eventid=58207&seasoncode=2026
  6. Results for the Park + Pipe events can be found here: https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=FS&eventid=58231&seasoncode=2026 and here: https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=SB&eventid=58232&seasoncode=2026 None of the Brits have made it past their respective qualification rounds so far unfortunately, with just the rail events to come on Friday.
  7. Kersten wasn't in the Olympic team because he didnt meet the ISU criteria of being in the top 21 in World Cup points for the 2025/26 season (Kersten was coming back from an injury), not because GB Ice skating declined his quota. In terms of Bobsleigh, Nick Gleeson seems like the replacement for Hall. He's Hall's former brakeman and only started driving in the last year or so, but has already got a win in the 2-Man on the NAC circuit. He actually met the IBSF criteria for the Games but the BBSA rejected his quota for some reason.
  8. Although this was our best Winter Games ever and I'm proud of that, there is still a tinge of disappointment for me with plenty of missed opportunities & "what ifs": What if Brookes didnt revert that 16 in the BA? What if Muir didnt squat that second jump in the slopestyle? What if Wyatt didnt tap the wall exiting T2 in the mixed skeleton? What if the USA women lost their last RR Curling match? What if Treacy didnt crash out of that 1500 final? What if Brookes didnt crash out of the slopestyle qualification? Then there was also the mixed curling and Bankes (individually) that underperformed compared to their pre-Games rankings. 5 medals and a record 3 Golds is great, but there is a World where we would've come away from these Games with 11 or 12 medals. Hopefully these missed opportunities will turn into medals in 2030 though as most of these athletes are young and should be back then.
  9. Weston and Bankes confirmed as closing ceremony flagbearers:
  10. That would be insane, cant see it happening. There's already a sliding track in La Plagne basically ready for Olympic competition so it doesn't make any sense. Getting rid of a historic sport like bobsleigh would surely also get a lot of backlash despite the German domination.
  11. Slovakia were beaten 6-1 in the Ice hockey bronze medal match so we'll end this Olympics with 30 nations winning medals. Still ties the record!
  12. Bobsleigh: Yes Freestyle Skiing: No Ceremonies: Matt Weston & Charlotte Bankes
  13. Bobsleigh: Yes Cross-Country Skiing: No Curling: No Freestyle Skiing: No
  14. Bobsleigh: Yes Freestyle Skiing: Yes Speed Skating: Yes
  15. In the end, that loss against China in our opening match is what cost us a place in the semis. China finished last in the standings.
