  1. I meant the younger, José, not Erick.
  2. It's my birthday! So I got up to watch the Barrondos right at midnight. Hopefully a good result, top 10 por José Barrondo would be fantastic.
  3. at the top of the Latin American countries??? Who would have thought??!!! At least for 1 day we will enjoy it soooo much!!!
  4. Too bad for Guatemala there is not Mixed Trap Team this Games.
  5. Good for for another medal!
  6. I think it is the same as with many developing poor countries with big population: the access to sport facilities, nutrition, corruption (benefits to some elites) and poor organization managment has make a toll on the success. It was until the late 1990s and early 2000s that things starte to change, first at the Central American and Caribbean Games and then Pan American Games, where Guatemala started winning more medals. things are changing and hopefully the trend will continue. To be out of the list of countries benefited by Universality quotas, qualifying directly about 70% to 80% of total athletes is the changes that is seeing. I will add that Football has been the most popular sport in the country for decades, and the budget, facilities and promotion of it dominates over individual sports. So, that situation also influence in what sports kids and teenagers practice.
  7. And with its smallest delegation since 2008 and 11/16 in size among all participations.
  8. Third medal ever for Guatemala! First woman to win a medal at Olympic Games! First gold at Olympic Games! First olympic record set by a guatemalan at Olympic Games! Adriana Ruano is a wonderful champion!
  9. Is Olympic Record!!!!!
  10. Gold! Gold! Guatemala ! I am not crying!!!
  11. ¡Vamos Adriana! 23/25
  12. The Italian is so fast!!! Her reaction is incredible.
  13. ¡Vamos Adriana ! Now everybody in Guatemala seems to be paying attention to the Olympics. I believe many guatemalans are watching the final in a few minutes.
  14. Here you go, Guatemala City named a bridge on his name
  15. Thanks y'all! @Josh @Gianlu33 @mrv86 @Roamingrover86 thanks for the mentions!! I watched it and it is a great feeling to see somebody from your country win a SECOND EVER medal. I was not home so could not enter at Totallympics to comment, but now I can do it. It was very emotional and tears appear, exactly like 12 years ago Guatemala won it's first medal with Erick Barrondo. NOW the whole country is paying attention to the Olympic Games, although when Kevin Cordón from Badminton had to abandone, many people were sad. Also it felt so good to have been able to recover the NOC from the corruption and Jean Pierre was able to wave the flag!!!! Cannot imagine how it would have felt if we were competing as Independent Athletes as we did at Pan American and Central American Games. I guess Guatemala started a streak of winning medals, at leat one every decade, hahaha one in the 2010s and another one in 2020s. ¡VIVA GUATEMALA!
  16. Kevin Cordón is out of the Games because of an injury. Good luck to the rest of the players in Group L.
  17. What are they giving to the athletes when they win medals inside that long wood box?
  18. Great ! With the silver medal extends the medal winning streak since 1948.
  19. With this medal has won at least 1 medal at Olympic Games since 1932. Best streak among Latin American countries.
  20. Bronze Women Team Archery! First official medal for Latin America. Great last 3 arrows!
  21. Merci Paris! Thank you France! LÉ GEN DAIRE What a great ceremony, for the athletes and embracing the city. Best way to use the river and buildings, unique show. Really enjoy it, alternating the artistic acts with the parade was the best. And great to see Nikki Doll, Paloma and Piche the Drag Queens from DragRace France. Wonderful runway!!
  22. Charlotte Webster (Sailing) & Jordan Crooks (Swimming) https://x.com/Caymanmarlroad_/status/1816523120146080020
