With the election and Sport Canada not finishing its "Future of Sport" study, national federations have had to cut back drastically in case of revving future reduced funding. For ex. All Wrestling Canada athletes are now self funded for tournaments.

Aroud there. It's probably a budget issue. For example, archery will send 3 ( 2 women and 1 one man) when they qualified exactly that amount. But wrestling has been given only 4 quota spots.

It was probably done to protect those two countries (Canada ,and the US?). If Canada had to decline, surely it would have came from the Aerials, and that could potentially ruin the viability of the mixed team aerials event.

Just confirmed, will be decline a whole lot of individual quotas. Many sports have been given a cap by the COC

Canada tied the Czech Republic in the men's nations ranking in cross-country and because of this we lost a quota. We will definitely get one back in reallocation, 2 might not be possible. We shall see.

As per the FIS quota release today only 6 countries would be eligible for the Aerials team event at the 2026 Olympics: no other country has enough athletes to qualify a team. Last time out both and withdrew, are we possibly heading to an event with 4 entries only?
