  1. The World's melting pot Since the Spanish conquest, people from other countries have immigrated to Mexico. Bringing with them their own culture and folklore, they have made us what we are today, a society that identifies itself as "Mestiza", the product of many and different legacies, from which it has learned and built itself as a new one. This has not been better shown that in the different rhythms, like La Bamba, one of the most known songs of the country, that has its origin in the African and Spanish dances that were practised alonside in the Gulf state of Veracruz, along other forms of "Sones Jarochos" In rather recent times, immigration to the Northern states from European and U.S. settlers in the late XIXth and XXth centuries influenced music in those regions, with diverse styles such as "corridos" and "polkas", which are still popular today and have given birth to modern "banda", "norteño" and "grupero" music.
  2. An Ode to our ancestors Each delegation participating in 2019 TAISC is now member of ten teams. Each of these bear the name of one of our indigenous peoples, which are close to 62 different ethnic groups, all descending from the first people that inhabited the American continent. Currently, Mexicans are rediscovering those roots with the past, in an effort to show respect to our ancestors traditions and veneration for this land and its occupants. An example of this is the "Danza del Venado" which has been performed for centuries by the tribes in the lands close to the Gulf of California.
  3. Nature's Symphony As we have told you, for centuries, Mexican people have been inspired by the beautiful scenarios they live in. That sentiment has been expressed by the song "Huapango" composed by Tapatío born, José Pablo Moncayo. Inspired by the popular music of rural peoples and with the vivid nature all over Mexico, he fused both, human culture and Earth's natural beauty.
  4. A Country to see Located between North and Central America, Mexico is a country, where many of the World's climate and ecosystems converge. Blessed with a rich biodiversity, amazing landscapes and rich seas, our human element could do nothing to add color and life to such a diverse place.

  17. Well last week i told @vinipereira i could switch location (my aunts’ house) to avoid delays; yet when everything was solved, i thought there was no need to do so, even if i could do that just to avoid another flop. that’s what I said I was overconfident, because the comoany still is nit giving me a real & lasting solution.
  18. I think @Olympian1010 could help me with that if he’s still up to the task
  19. I understand your point and clearly it’s been my fault for being over confident with my capabilities as a host. But again, It’s good to know these opinions, because I think it can help the contest get better, and as you say, some changes might improve the interest, help get a fresh look
  20. It’s official and I’m sorry for those users who may miss it, @dcro and @konig, but I’m moving it again.
  21. That’s what I thought So it will be better to move everything to another date.
  22. What I’m really happy with is your great support and understanding. I promised a good show, and I’m going to deliver, even if it means moving it back a day or week.
