  1. Czech Republic with a win in snowboarding? Huh???
  2. Oh right, completely forgot

  4. Team Homan win their 2nd Slam in a row at the GSOC Kioti National, defeating Hasselborg 7-6 in the final!
  5. Sighel being the male athlete of the games for Italy is also wishful thinking with how dominant the Canadian men are at the moment Nothing Fontana has shown either that would prove she could be among the women to watch in long track speed skating.
  6. GSOC Kioti National | Saint Johns, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada Men 1. Team Mouat 2. Team Jacobs 3. Team McEwen 3. Team Whyte Team Mouat have now won the first 3 slams to start the season, and keep their hope for a Grand Slam alive. They’d be the first team to ever achieve that feat. Women 1. Team Homan 2. Team Hasselborg 3. Team Kim 3. Team Einarson Team Homan were 5-2 down entering the 6th end and somehow managed to find a way to win. Now 40-2 on the season, including 5 titles, and are 107-9 in their last 116 games. Incredible consistency. Full Results
  7. What about in an Olympic discipline?
  8. Two of my favourite teams playing in the women’s final, rooting for Homan but mainly hoping for a great game
  9. Big Air WC Beijing | Beijing, China Men Gold- Hiroto Ogiwara (169.50) Silver- Ian Matteoli (165.50) Bronze- Yang Wenlong (159.25) Wenlong with his first career WC podium! Pretty surprising to see all of the favourites finish in the bottom three positions Women Gold- Mia Brookes (179.75) Silver- Mari Fukada (176.75) Bronze- Anna Gasser (169.00) Brookes with her first career WC victory?!? Had to double check, because that statistic didn’t seem right at first. Full Results
  10. Bronze for Isabelle Weidemann in the women’s 3000m and silver for Valerie Maltais in the women’s mass start at the ISU Beijing WC! Blondin was DQ’d in the mass start FYI.

  16. Bronze for Dylan Deschamps in men’s big air at the Beijing WC. Honestly not quite sure how to feel about it… Harrington had a higher combined score than him and tied for the lead at 183.00 and yet somehow finished in 4th?
  17. 91.75 + 92.25 is 183.00, is it not?? Harrington should be tied for the lead alongside Frostad, and not 4th? WTF, I’m so confused…
  18. Really exciting men’s competition
  19. Another WC podium for Flora Tabanelli
  20. I’ll start first; Obviously, @brunamoura in cross country skiing if she qualifies (no pressure) and Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo. Curling: Team Hasselborg and Team Edin, Kaldvee/Lill, and to a lesser extent Team Fujisawa and Team Schwaller Ice Hockey: Elias Pettersson/Elias Lindholm, Pius Suter, Arturs Silovs/Teddy Blueger, whichever Canucks are on United States’ men’s team, Filip Hronek and Finland’s men’s team if Lankinen can keep up his good play (Even though he’s probably going to get traded from the Canucks after this season, he prefers being on a team where he can get more starts than more money. Still I have a soft spot for him) Alpine Skiing: Marco Odermatt, Aleksandr Aamodt Kilde, AJ Ginnis, Joan Verdu and to a slightly lesser extent Johannes Strolz Freestyle Skiing: Jakara Anthony, Birk Ruud, Sina Sigenthaler, Ryan Regez, Kelly Sildaru (for more reasons than one), Eileen Gu Snowboarding: Leon Ulbricht, Marcus Kleveland, Anna Gasser, Benjamin Karl/Andreas Prommegger, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott Ski Mountaineering: Oriol Cardona Coll and that’s it for now… Bobsleigh: Kaysha Love Short Track: Robert Kruzbergs Speed Skating: Jutta Leerdam, Jordan Stolz, Marten Liiv, Bart Swings Luge: Thomas Steu/Wolfgang Kindl, Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt From a Canadian perspective, I’m rooting for our men’s hockey team above all. Then, our curling teams, especially Team Homan if she wins Olympic Trials. Then Max Parrot, Mikael Kingsbury, Eliot Grondin, William Dandjinou, our women’s hockey team, and our ski cross squad. But really I’ll be rooting for all of our athletes. I like Hammerle, but I’ll be rooting against him at the Olympics
  21. Decided to start a thread on this early, and get some discussion When I mean athletes, I mean athletes from other countries mainly… but ones that represent your country work too
