  1. I can't understand why Spain never seems to get it together. Bark, never bite.
  2. The only thing that annoys me is that certain people use this as a spread of victory of their political agenda. Well, it can't be helped, this step was just necessary.
  3. Feels like another pretty boring season, where Red Bull is way too dominant for comfort and Perez should not be able to challenge Verstappen. Here to hope Alonso can snatch a race once more. It has been ages.
  4. I hope to see Benfica and Napoli through. Although Benfica is troublesome for the Dutch teams, at least when looking at the financial gain from an extra Champions League football spot.
  5. From the top of my head it was 2006, the decline wasn't that incidental after all. Ironically, it was Juventus who carried Italy through mostly in these years (at least since Inter won in 2010), but now they are out early and again in some serious exterior troubles.
  6. Hanne clearly wasn't on the level of her usual self. Stijn seemed to be all right.
  7. Dutch girls being the dominant force on the short rink as well. Although I think Sarrault, Desmet and Choi are still legit threats for the years to come. Schulting didn't seem at all happy though with the threat within. I can see her break towards a commercial team alongside the Desmets, as there was also a rift with the coaching team for the siblings. Men's tournament seemed to be a little more open as a whole, with only Park a standout, but not as unbeatable as Velzeboer.
  8. Starting 11th and still the first man to finish, oh well.
  9. Finally some world championship action in a sports I really enjoy, even though the mixed relay isn't my exact favourite. Hoping for some medal surprises for the German speaking countries today.
  10. That's a hard-to-take loss on the political level. As for the football, it was just not good enough. The same old theme since 2016. Dominating in possession without creating any chances against a solid back line. Spain has not adapted to the evolution of the game.
  11. Apparently the badminton day 2 court 1 videos are the same as the day 2 court 2 videos, with court 1 content not available. Big oof.
  12. There will be some furious faces back in the Dutch camp.
  13. Rowing links seem to be incorrect? Or is that a mistake on my side? This is the day 3 link for instanc: https://olympics.com/en/video/singles-pairs-lightweight-double-quadrupple-fours-rowing-tokyo-2020-replays which is different from the original
  14. Even though my man Nadal has won the most GS, I feel like Federer is the most legendary out of the big three. A true hero of the sport signing off.
  15. I guess the main problem might be concerning the police not being up to capacity because they are necessary elsewhere?
  16. We could have been in for an interesting fight between the brave, pretty offensive youngster and the one who only attacks in the last 3000 metres, too bad it isn't meant to be. At least this basically ensures Mas scores a podium to salvage Spanish cycling. Once again. But I still don't feel like he will ever do more than that.
  17. It really depends on the exposure of the sport from the start, yeah. Fiji in Rugby Sevens gets quite some recognition, at least on Belgian TV (which I mostly watch during the Olympics for reasons) Kirani James is another example, or another few nations in athletics like Botswana or the Bahamas. This exposure increases for team sports, naturally.
  18. I kinda both agree and disagree. It is kinda noticable if a 'small' country performs well because of a one-off. It is something that is well-recognized internationally, and I always feel smaller underdog nations will always be hyped a bit by all of the media. (Although western countries, especially America, seem to be forever hyped here.. especially in swimming) On the topic of random American swimmers who perform well at the 200 backstroke, this would probably be a good thing. Although the 200 backstroke is quite a forgettable event in itself. But they always feel like persons-who-I-rarely-know-except-for-having-this-American-flag.
  19. At least we’re not in for three weeks of Extremadura, but on the sports side it hasn’t been anywhere exciting for me.
  20. Personally, I don´t mind Sports Climbing. Skateboarding is a bit so-so and Golf needn't be included, because they don't really take it all that seriously. However, I can understand why they cut the canoe sprint programme somewhat. Comparing to swimming, everything feels unfair, however. I can imagine why some of these changes are happening, but they are always forgetting part of what is important in actually making these changes.
Zilver.
