  1. Two DQ in men's 1500m heats including Filip Ingebrigtsen.
  2. This could get ugly fast. If they only were tipped off about the cc skiers and suddenly found the Tutenkhamon's tomb instead?
  3. Takanashi could end up like Daniela Bartova & Emma George, reduced into oblivion by history moving forward. Just wait until women begin to jump on the big & mammoth hills. Takanashi is like the dead-ball era in baseball or pre-Open era in tennis, or pre-shot clock in NBA.
  4. Nope. Biles & Ledecky are not the best their sport has ever seen. Women's ski jumping is a global event for a mere decade. Takanashi's peak was the highest so far but the throne is vacated for me because she never won individual gold medal anywhere.
  5. You're the one who majority people disagree with here Your ego is too big for you see the whole picture.
  6. Yet these champs are held in his home country. I guess you don't accept the possibility he could have sacrificed the World Cup to focus on these champs - potentially his last ever? And you said top Germans are taking it easy in the post-Olympic season? Gruber could be doing the same and yet you call his medal random?
  7. Team wants to defend the overall 1st place in medals' table from previous EIC. Jakub Krzewina (400m) is the only late withdrawal due to knee injury. K O B I E T Y: 60 m Ewa Swoboda (AZS AWF Katowice) 400 m, 4x400 m Iga Baumgart-Witan (BKS Bydgoszcz) Justyna Święty-Ersetic (AZS AWF Katowice) --- Małgorzata Hołub-Kowalik (KL Bałtyk Koszalin) Natalia Kaczmarek (AZS AWF Wrocław) Anna Kiełbasińska (SKLA Sopot) Justyna Saganiak (UKS 55 Łódź) 1500 m Sofia Ennaoui (AZS UMCS Lublin) 60 m ppł Karolina Kołeczek (AZS UMCS Lublin) Klaudia Siciarz (AZS AWF Kraków) pchnięcie kulą (Shot put) Klaudia Kardasz (KS Podlasie Białystok) M Ę Ż C Z Y Ź N I: 60 m Remigiusz Olszewski (CZWS Zawisza Bydgoszcz SL) 400 m, 4x400 m Karol Zalewski (AZS AWF Katowice) --- Dariusz Kowaluk (AZS WF Warszawa) Rafał Omelko (AZS AWF Wrocław) Tymoteusz Zimny (WKS Śląsk Wrocław) 800 m Mateusz Borkowski (RKS Łódź) Michał Rozmys (UKS Barnim Goleniów) 800 m, 1500 m Marcin Lewandowski (CZWS Zawisza Bydgoszcz SL) 60 m ppł Dominik Bochenek (CWZS Zawisza Bydgoszcz SL) Damian Czykier (KS Podlasie Białystok) skok wzwyż (High Jump) Sylwester Bednarek (RKS Łódź) Norbert Kobielski (MKS Inowrocław) skok o tyczce (Pole Vault) Piotr Lisek (OSOT Szczecin) Robert Sobera (AZS AWF Wrocław) Paweł Wojciechowski (CWZS Zawisza Bydgoszcz SL) skok w dal (Long Jump) Tomasz Jaszczuk (AZS AWF Katowice) trójskok (Triple Jump) Adrian Świderski (WKS Śląsk Wrocław) pchnięcie kulą (Shot Put) Konrad Bukowiecki (KS AZS UWM Olsztyn) Michał Haratyk (KS Sprint Bielsko- Biała) Jakub Szyszkowski (AZS AWF Katowice)
  8. Gruber still had the 4th fastest skiing time? (Hakola had the best, Riiber 6th). I don't see how being Top 10 in both jumping & skiing makes a Top 3 finish random? Germany obviously lost too much on the jumping hill and Rydzek is just about the only one who made serious inroads but over a minute behind at the start made his challenge futile. Riessle didn't seem to even try but can't blame him since a Top 10 finish is not what's satisfying for him. Szczepan Kupczak's 18th place is the highest finish for a athlete in this event since Tadeusz Bafia finished 17th in Seefeld 1985
  9. World Cup winner winning a gold medal isn't random at all Very good performance from the Polish guys, three of them in Top 30 and Kupczak only lost 14 places in the skiing which is probably a record for him. First individual WC gold for in Nordic combined since 2001.
  10. Cross country is never about emerging nations though Other than Kalla & Nilsson they've had nobody who could win gold on merit. It's even worse on the men's side.
  11. Johaug has caught Nilsson on the last climb but she needs to build a gap tbh...
  12. First you say Takanashi is the greatest female ski jumper of all time and then you say about her severe decline at age 22 The facts are Lundby is an Oympic & world champion now. And judges in ski jumping are notoriously biased since like FOREVER. You've reinvented the wheel. Seyfarth got 1,5 less from the Austrian judge today just to make sure Iraschko-Stolz gets a medal
  13. Takanashi is a well-known choker at the big events, basically the female Schlierenzauer. Vogt didn't come out of nowhere but neither did Lundby who actually led in Lahti after the 1st round. This time she's learned how not to throw it away but she won the Olympics before that already. She's got more staying power and definitely avoids the choking bug that has plagued Takanashi.
  14. It wasn't as bad as yesterday tbh. But Althaus two-foot landing cost her the gold, she couldn't do anything about the wind compensation in the 2nd round.
  15. Lundby wins by 0,5 point! Wind compensation made the difference and Althaus landing on two feet in the first jump. Lundby utterly dominates the World Cup for the last two seasons so I doubt she's going anywhere given her age. She's like the Takanashi who actually wins the big events too! Althaus can't win anything since mid-December now
  16. Lundby, Althaus & Seyfarth have some breathing space after 1st round. Karpiel 21st Rajda 34th.
  17. 97.5 for Karpiel which should be good enough for 2nd round! Rajda 91.0 meters.
  18. They might have reached a new low in quals. Sankey & Lussi got beaten by a girl from Hungary. Geraghty-Moats DQ. It will be a huge success for either Rajda or Karpiel to make the 2nd round!
  19. If you like another Norwegian Nationals disguised as World Championships it's truly excellent indeed. Now we need two relays for Norway and let's face it, the 30/50 mass starts will probably be all Norway again Not to mention this Seefeld course is rather flat and uninspiring at best.
