  1. Back with tennis, Beatriz Haddad Maia who got busted for ostarine & ligandrol has been given a 10 month ban backdated to 22 July 2019 (the day when she was originally suspended). So she can return on 22 May 2020
  2. Polish judokas have underperformed greatly over the past 5 Olympics. Zagrodnik got screwed in London outright but other than that Krawczyk was what, 8 seconds from the final in Athens before a complete brain freeze and Katarzyna Kłys could never find her mojo when it really mattered. I never had much faith in Wilkomirski to begin with but it has to be said judo is probably the biggest Polish disappointement among Olympic sports in the XXI century (along with boxing but everyone wants to go pro there so the expectations are much lower).
  3. Speaking of talents, what's the deal with Frida Karlsson's medical absence?
  4. First podium ever for Lara Malsiner! Italian ski jumping has some life!
  5. It's called tibial plateau in English Among others Vonn & Fenninger have had this injury as addition to ACL tear.
  6. Left knee? She sat on it with full weight of her body before crashing out.
  7. Ah, the legendary Krakow - Kosice bus trip worth 5 euros is ON???
  8. I find her maiden name way cooler tbh I suppose "mäki" has the same meaning in Tommi Mäkinen's name? (the rally driver, duh).
  9. Tiffany Gauthier 4th - just 0,01 behind Holdener!
  10. Yeah, it's rather obvious if Vlhova wants to challenge for the overall she has to add the speed events to go with slalom & GS. This being said, Brignone is making a very strong case herself.
  11. Brignone slower than Holdener... in a Super G!
  12. Rebensburg crashed and allthough she got up it feels like she's strained the left knee or sth.
  13. Stephan Leyhe wins his first World Cup event in Willingen. Sunday competition has been called off due to high wind forecasts so Leyhe also wins the otherwise artificial Willingen Five.. cough.... Willingen Three
  14. In Poland there remains a running gag about Czech ice hockey players: Popil, Poruhal a Smutny We even have memes about that:
  15. Shame we don't have many members. I recall Krista Lahteenmaki's name was supposed to mean something like "Tree by the bay" "Lahti" in Finnish means "bay"
  16. Not to mention Krystyna Guzik (nee Pałka) - Christina Button (nee Stick) Łukasz Szczurek - Lucas Little Rat
  17. Last time I checked 67% of Dems voters would support a guy who has the biggest chance of beating Trump? The ideological change Sanders preaches will bounce off the wall if Bloomberg makes a Grand Slam entrance as the "only guy who can beat Trump". The fear of Trump reelection is probably bigger than any reasonable idea Sanders or Buttigieg can come up with to win the nomination saying the positive things. There's nothing positive about the Dems process, getting rid of Trump anyway, anyhow is the main thing IMO.
  18. That should silence the "flat and boring" critics for a while
  19. It was what, ca. 2009-2011 when Ukraine played in the Division A? They were like Russia B double if Kazakhstan is also Russia B until today like they are in tennis as well. I suppose some of the best Ukrainian juniors switch nationality to Russia, that enables them to have a great career in KHL even if they have no shot of making the Russian NT. I don't know how it works in KHL with double nationality? I suppose players with a single Ukrainian passport aren't exactly welcome there?
  20. This whole "state isn't representative enough" talk is BS. California and New York are probably the most racially diversified states in the USA, right? Then we have Texas, Florida and New Mexico due to the huge Latinos presence there. Illinois is probably the most diversified with a black presence. Scrap the whole Iowa, NH, South Carolina crap and just settle in the big markets, whoever wins California and New York should be the ultimate choice. Most of the rural states have no real influence to begin with. Has there ever been a President from Idaho or Wyoming? Probably not. Nobody cares about this. I said before that Bloomberg follows the Trump's path. Old white billionaire who has enough money not to be reliant on the party funds and meetings. This is where the US politics heads to. All those "next Obamas" are getting swamped by the reality mud. Julian Castro is as good as done, likewise Beto O'Rourke. Buttigieg will probably follow suit since the ethnic minorities will ignore him and vote for old guys like Biden. Getting picked as Obama's running mate is Biden's biggest calling card that profits until today tbh. This is like an emotional Obama debt he is collecting right now.
  21. Sanders and Warren still split the progressive vote. One of them needs to go. Buttigieg has zero support from the blacks & ethnic minorities. If Dems voters think that Bloomberg has a better chance of beating Trump than Biden that kills Biden's chances too. Sounds like Bloomberg vs Sanders battle unless Biden rallies in the wealthy states AND scores a landslide among the black voters. What I don't know is whether blacks and Latinos will support Bloomberg? Dems have lost Deep South a while back, Biden is supposed to win South Carolina by a mile - a state with 60% of black population. Buttigieg will be slaughtered there IMO.
  22. Let's don't forget Bloomberg is stacking up cash to make his big entrance! It would be hilarious if all these candidates bleed out after months of campaigns and Bloomberg sweeps them in March
