  1. Meanwhile Natalia Kaczmarek 49.86 PB! Only the second Polish women under 50 seconds after Irena Szewinska. This is really big and thank to Bol for pulling the trailer for such a result!
  2. Pia Skrzyszowska 12.58 PB in the second 100H SF.
  3. Well, it stopped raining but the track is mostly damp. Camacho-Quinn won her 100H SF in 12,51.
  4. Well, after a week of scorching heat it's supposed to rain today. I live close to Chorzów and it started to rain 20 minutes ago...
  5. The head of Amnesty International Ukraine has quit her post over this outrageously stupid report. You have to start wondering if AI is taking money from Russia like Schroeder & his pals? https://www.upi.com/Top_News/World-News/2022/08/05/oksana-pokalchuk-resigns-amnesty-international-ukraine-russia/3201659745840/
  6. Yeah, some race walking minnows dominated the boys' race. Tunisia came in 4th. It looks like both Turks are real Turks, not some imports like Abeylegesse years back.
  7. Still no news about the team but I assume it will be released after Kamila Skolimowska Diamond League meeting tomorrow.
  8. won the second bronze in men's pole vault. Michal Gawenda won U-18 European title few weeks back so he was one of the very few medal contenders we had. Meanwhile race walking on track usually throws up some "sprint" finishes. Karla Ximena Serrano beat Ai Ooyama by 0,09 sec. taking the lead basically less than a meter from the finish line Olivia Sandery got a 1 minute time penalty which demoted her from third to fourth place. Old Eurosport buddy Martin Gillingham kinda didn't see that coming
  9. Viktoriya Tomova reached ITF 100k Grodzisk Mazowiecki SF which means she will be ranked in WTA Top 100 for the first time on Monday.
  10. So England vs NZL wasn't a QF? Yeah, I guess with so few nations being any good in netball (and the same teams winning medals all the time) I guess it would be strange if New Zealand somehow didn't make the last four
  11. Netball final won't be Australia vs New Zealand? Did New Zealand send some B or C team here?
  12. First leg: Spartak Trnava - Raków Częstochowa 0-2. Ekstraklasa's best plater Ivi Lopez scored both goals in the first half.
  13. Amnesty International claims Ukrainian Army is the one that endangers the civilians Putin must love such reports! https://www.amnesty.org.uk/press-releases/ukraine-military-endangering-civilians-locating-forces-residential-areas-new
  14. First medal for Poland - Zuzanna Maślana takes bronze in shot put (16.06 PB). She improved her PB by 38 cm. Still over 20 cm behind Klaudia Kardasz's U20NR (16.29 which only gave 5th place in 2014 U20 WCh).
  15. Yankees getting rid of Gallo is a bonus for them. He was below average for a while. Yeah, Hosmer spun out of the Soto deal but didn't block it. Nationals are bottom five team in the league and have zero genuine hope for the next decade. Also Noah Syndergaard went to Phillies. This guy was a luxury piece on a nose-diving Angels team and he wasn't worth the squeeze after TJ surgery anyway. Twins got SP Tyler Mahle which means Cardinals were the deadline losers by the virtue of not making any deals as they were reported to be in the Soto sweepstakes and Mahle was supposed to be a consolation price but they got neither.
  16. The biggest trade of the season has happened. Juan Soto is going to San Diego Padres who have loaded up to finally make the WS push. Washington Nationals who won World Series in 2019 have all their All-Star talent gone in basically three years, Bryce Harper (he left before WS), Trea Turner, Max Scherzer, Anthony Rendon and now Soto. The Padres trade still hinges on Padres 1B Eric Hosmer waving no-trade clause to Nationals.
  17. The scoring in cricket is way too complicated for casuals to catch up within two weeks of Olympics. How many overs, balls and runs and what are the extras? Who in USA knows what lbw means? Probably 0,02%. Water polo and hockey might not have the appeal but they have simple rules. Two goals and one ball. Put the object ball into the net. Scoring in cricket? That's another thing to debate. At least the baseball scoring is easier to keep the track on if nothing goes on. I'm not even going to mention the usual bitching about piste conditions in cricket. Imagine if outside powers set up a cricket turf on neutral grounds? The bitching would never stop from these players. Too soft, too hard, too whatever
  18. If flag football and baseball/softball are approved then nobody in USA will give a flying hoot about cricket. Americans usually don't care about any sport they aren't good at and I haven't seen USA national team play world class cricket lately? It took years for soccer to even register on the US pro sporting map and you want to sell them cricket at the Olympics? Zero chance that happens.
  19. Yes, but India can only field ONE team at the Olympics, right? It's the same casus with China, just because they own table tennis it doesn't mean table tennis is a global sport in terms of popularity. I'm sorry but cricket is being played between the same nations over and over again. England, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan and West Indies (have Bangladesh & Afghanistan won anything in cricket, like one medal at World Cup? They're just the minnows who always lose). This ain't 1922 when British Empire covered 25% of the globe. Those days are gone. You wanna tell me colonialism is back to being trendy again so cricket needs to be an Olympic sport?
  20. Cricket as Olympic sport? How many teams will participate? Six? Unless they split West Indies and artificially boost the count. Either way, USA won't pay attention and likewise 99% of Europe.
  21. The DeShaun Watson saga appears to be over. Judge recommened he gets suspended for 6 games in the 2022 season. That's borderline laughable for a case that featured 66 sexual harrasement cases at one point Cleveland Browns will take that "penalty" with a big smile on their face.
  22. Poland have send 38 athletes including U-18 European champions Marek Zakrzewski (100m) and Michał Gawenda (pole vault). However Kornelia Lesiewicz who won 400m silver in last year's edition in Nairobi will only take part in 4x400 relay & mixed as her SB is over two seconds slower than PB from 2021.
  23. Fernando Alonso has signed with Aston Martin to replace Vettel! https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/fernando-alonso-switches-to-aston-martin-f1-team-from-2023/10347079/ This basically opens the way for Oscar Piastri to join Alpine next season.
  24. Bill Russell (basketball, 1956 Olympic champion, 11x NBA champion) passed away at the age of 88.
  25. Ferrari threw away another victory chance with yet more strategy errors. Verstappen won at Hungaroring from 10th place on the grid while also having a mid-race spin F1 heads into a four week break now.
