  2. The Clausura part of the Polish Ekstraklasa has started
  3. I lost track how many nations Allison Reed represented but has won the current lottery and she's in 4th place after rhythm dance. Basically four duets in line for bronze medal.
  4. Just a remind the 2024 Olympics will be played on clay so not really Haddad Maia's best surface
  5. You're basically asking for resident status that allows to obtain citizenship. That's too complicated and would have to apply for other nations as well. I can't see governments granting that door. Even Zola Budd obtained UK citizenship based on her grandfather being British to compete in 1984 Olympics. Maybe @Grassmarketadds more details?
  6. Something for @hckoĆĄiceApparently Slovakian crime mob is dumping bodies on the Polish side of the border. The death of the policeman from Nitra was ruled a suicide i.e. the guy closed himself in the back of the trunk and shot himself in the head there Even our journalists & locals suspect there's something fishy going on here https://wiadomosci.onet.pl/krakow/egzekucje-slowackiej-mafii-na-podhalu-byly-sledczy-tu-musi-byc-cos-grubszego/v0y499n
  7. Soerum 8/10 and made up 20 secs on Bjoentegaard on the last loop Up to 2nd place from nowhere.
  8. TV director shows Nawrath taking the lead at the finish but misses Bjoentegaard's 10/10 who takes a big lead after the second shoot
  9. Schmuck with bib #44 is the first one who shoots 10/10
  10. Anyone who shoots 10/10 could get a medal by default
  11. Yeah, I believe a lot of tennis fans will cheer for Tsitsipas
  12. Just got back from work in time for the men's sprint. I see Merkushyna won the women's sprint in the morning. Stina Nilsson 4th only 8 secs. behind first place. Slettemark in 29th place. Nothing to see from the Polish team
  13. Yeah, meanwhile Ng lost to this 14 year old kid from Moldova/France
  14. The most obvious case was the 1976 Olympic boycott by African countries due to New Zealand breaking the anti-apartheid ban. And truly nobody gives a damn about that - or talks about all those rugby tours during the South African apartheid regime. I assume there were some cricket tours as well but I don't that much about the sport. It's an old story of another double standards yet because it affects Africa then nobody really cares anymore. These days a lot of ethic Africans even compete for more wealthy nations so it's all been swept under the carpet anyway. A dust in the history wind...
  15. Gold for Conti/Macii. Ghilardi/Ambrosini with the best FP score move up three places to silver and Hocke/Kunkel take bronze.
  16. guaranteed gold in the pairs. Ghilardi/Ambrosini moved up from 5th place and only Conti/Macii left to skate
  17. Failed lasso lift for Vaipan-Law & Digby which basically drops them from 9th to 10th (among 13 starters)
  18. Kurakova two-footed on rittberger and 5th place but only two points behind the podium. Gubanova in the lead, Hendrickx in 2nd after one error then Repond and Mikutina.
  19. A complete disaster from Lea Serna which means Nikola Rychtarikova sneaks into FP. 16 year old Kimmy Repond takes the lead with 8 skaters left.
  20. Adam Siao Him Fa with a big lead after SP. Samoilov in 6th place so guess maybe Poland has a chance at another Top 10 finish. Kurakova going #30 and last in SP order
  21. Aryna Sabalenka beats Magda Linette 7-6(1) 6-2 and advances to the final. No random AO finallist this time, two very much in-form players.
  22. [hide] Knockout Round January 25th - January 29th, 2023 4 Nations, The Winners from each Semifinals will qualify for the Final. The Losers from each Semifinals will play in the Third-Place-Match. 23. Elena Rybakina beats Victoria Azarenka 7-6(4) 6-3 to advance to women's final.
  24. Tough luck for They send two guys and both are set to miss FP? Somehow Samoilov leads but ahead of some very non-figure skating powerhouses
