  1. I have just read an interview with Emil Iversen and Björn Dæhlie. Both Iversen and Klaebo expect to start in the first five races in Seefeld (Sprint, Skiathlon, Team Sprint, 15km Classical and Relay). I guess that means Iversen is not going to start in the 50km Mass Start because that would mean he would go all 6 races at the WCH.
  2. Sometimes I wonder why IOC created YOG, when they are turning the Olympics into the YOG featuring adults...
  3. I'm not fan of including any dancesport, but if you had to include something, Standard and Latin would be much more fitting for the Olympics.
  4. Yes. To clarify, all questions where the words "individual event/s" don't appear, team events will also count. This question is the only exception. Obviously, the team event and team sprint don't count. 9- Germany will have at least 2 or more athletes on the podium in the same event [YES/NO - X]
  5. The Swedish national team manager, Rikard Grip, expects Nilsson to be on the starting line for the sprint. Stina Nilsson is currently in Seefeld where she rehabilitates her injured thigh. - We believe and hope that Stina is on the starting line on Thursday. It is our ambition. But we are still humble. There can still be setbacks, though nothing indicates that at the moment, says Grip to SVT Sport. https://www.svt.se/sport/langdskidor/grip-om-stina-nilsson (In Swedish)
  6. Short answer: Yes, they do. The list of defending champions (from 2017): Stefan Kraft, Piotr Zyla, Dawid Kubacki, Maciej Kot, Kamil Stoch, Carina Voigt, Marcus Eisenbichler, Svenja Würth, Andreas Wellinger.
  7. "Hello Mr. heywoodu We have received your comment about formulation of a question in the bet contest. We will take your comment in consideration in relation to the formulation of the questions in future bet contests. Have a nice day, Mr. heywoodu P.s. Please keep your head above sea level. I know it will be difficult in the Netherlands, or as we call it, Holland. We all know, Noord- and Zuid-Holland are the two most important provinces in the Kingdom of the Netherlands". For this bet contest it counts as two names, hence why I took him as an example, so no one would be in doubt.
  8. Stockholm 2026 is looking great at the moment. Are has proven how you organise some good alpine competitions... Oh wait..
  9. The groups for the Davis Cup Finals
  10. Trump will declare a national emergency. WOW!
  11. Yes it is. A situation with conflicts is not the optimal way of creating new talents for the future. I would much rather prefer a stable situation, where players could train and develop their play. I'm also frustrated to see the lack of female singles talents. Mia Blichfeldt is okay, max a top 10 player, not a top 5. I miss players like Tine Baun/Rasmussen, Camilla Martin, and before my time, Lene Koppen. I do not understand why we can't develop a good Women's Singles player? We can develop male Singles players and male Doubles players. Women's Doubles is not looking good either. After Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christina Pedersen decided to have a child together, and Kamilla decided to carry their child, we didn't have a second pair to take over for them. We have zero relevance in Women's Doubles at the moment.
  12. I guess only the players and Badminton Denmark are the only ones who know why Danish badminton has turned in to such a mess. I can probably try to contact the badminton experts on danish tv to hear if they know why there have been so many conflicts in the recent years. Steen Pedersen trained the players when they were in conflict with Badminton Denmark. He was clearly annoyed by the situation Danish badminton was in, but he is not considering returing as national coach at the moment.
  13. As Shakespeare once wrote, "There is something rotten in the state of Denmark".
  14. I'm not reading any Japanese medias, so I do not know how far they are in the process. You are probably reading more Asian medias than I do. At the moment YONEX is sponsor for many of the players on the national team, though not all. (I do not know which players who has a sponsorship deal with YONEX) I can't remember the case between Viktor and Badminton Denmark. Viktor has not been part of the national team for a couple of years, but he has agreed to be part of the new sponsorship deal. That is why he is part of the Danish team for the Mixed European Championship.
  15. I do not know. It has been about two weeks ago this story came out in Danish medias and nothing new has been published about this case. So I guess they, Yonex Japan, are either working on a lawsuit against Badminton Denmark or they have dropped their accusation. I can't find any more information about this conflict, and my sources don't know more at the moment. We just have to wait and see what happens.
  16. Welcome @up and down Glad to see another badminton enthusiast has joined the forum.
  17. Link to article about Mia: http://sport.tv2.dk/badminton/2019-02-14-blichfeldt-er-overrasket-over-hvordan-hun-er-blevet-behandlet. Indeed sad for Antonsen, but he's one our future stars indeed. Boe and Mogensen will still train together when Boe is in Denmark. They are still partners, but they are no longer part of the elite program and will not be provided coaches or training facilities by Badminton Denmark. About the Badminton Denmark and Yonex Japan case, I can't say much more about that case. It will be up to lawyers to solve this if Yonex Japan really think one of their document has been tampered with. @up and down Do you have more questions?
  18. From the Danish article Mia Blichfeldt says she has felt like she has been looked upon differently by some of the players after the conflict was solved. So it's more about her personal relation to some of the players on the nation team than the national team rejecting her to be part of the team. Boe is no longer part of the national team. He decided to step out of the elite program in Denmark, and instead, train in India, where he is closer to his Indian girlfriend. Mogensen has been offered a new partner, but has rejected Badminton Denmark offer. So I guess both are out at the moment, but they both hope Badminton Denmark will select them for the WCH later this year.
  19. We have a Chinese user here on the forum. I will tag him. He can maybe translate it . @Function CR Lee Could you translate this?:
  20. Can't you send a link to the article?
  21. Maybe with some help from google translate.
  22. To clarify, Yonex says Bo Jensen has tampered with one our their document, but Badminton Denmark denies that. "The accusations are unfounded, since the working document that is the subject of the accusations correctly describe Yonex Japan's perception on how players, sponsored by Yonex, can be used by Badminton Denmark in our marketing," says René Toft, chairman of Badminton Denmark. I do remember that conflict. It was solved and they agreed on a mutual agreement. Where have you read that? Link? I read she is still on the national team for the Mixed European Championship. This is where I read this: http://sport.tv2.dk/badminton/2019-02-14-blichfeldt-er-overrasket-over-hvordan-hun-er-blevet-behandlet. It's in Danish, but google translate should do the work. It's the same with our national football team. Many players nowadays have many personal sponsorship deals with bigger companies, who wants the players exclusively for them self. This conflicts with the association who also expects to have exclusive marketing rights of the players when they are part of the national team. Because many of the players only uses Badminton Denmark's facilities, coaches, doctors etc... when training, Badminton Denmark expect them to do more marketing for their sponsors. Viktor Axelsen almost never train in Denmark because he is such a big name in China. Most of his sponsorship deals and training facilities are there, but somehow, Badminton Denmark has an personal agreement with him that allow them to use him in their marketing. It's quite confusing to be honest, and I don't fully understand why it's was so difficult to find a mutual agreement between the players and Badminton Denmark.
  23. Mia Blichfeldt is still part of the national team. It seems that the conflict is a closed chapter for the players, and they will try to look forward. Hans-Kristian Vittinghus, who was the player's spokesman during the conflict, also encourages everyone to look forward. He said at a meeting before the first training after the conflict, that the players agreed on this. - The ladies singles need Mia because she is one of the very best we have here at home, and Mia also needs the others, so it is stupid if there is someone bearing a grudge over something that happened during the conflict. The news about Bo Jensen is true, but Badminton Denmark still has full confidence in him.
