  1. @Function CR Lee Are you interested? It would be nice to see China in TISC. Also, Sweden can't miss TISC. @Belle ? Maybe @Swewi is also interested? What about our neighbors in South? Germany have to join. @catgamer, @OlympicsFan, @EselTheDonkey? Poland, where are you? @rybak, @Monzanator, @szy123, @Speedy, @Vojthas, @Ufilov? Egypt? @thepharoah? Join us, Finland! @Finnator123?
  2. One question. Does the retreat have anything to do with being outside? I'm asking because the skin on some of us pale vikings with red-haired genes is not best friends with strong sunshine. I don't want to end up like this fellow.
  3. If IOC demands the breakdancers to look/dress like this at the Olympics, it´s fine with me.
  4. In another dimension, time is relative to the square root of the mass of a macaque monkey. #Becausescience Edit: 12- At least 2 or more athletes from the Women's 5km C will be slower than the winner of the Men's 10km C (DNF and DNS don't count)
  5. *Note to myself. Next time I create questions for a bet contest, be sure to think ALL possible scenarios before you formulate a question*. To be honest, I don't know. Maybe I'm the only one thinking that because you start you have made an effort to set a time and therefore you can be slower or faster than someone else. Anyway, if no one thought that, except me, and the time winner time of 10km is not under 25:50, there is no problem.
  6. When we are on the topic of discussing the questions in the Nordic Bet contest. This question: 12- At least 2 or more athletes from the Women's 5km C will be slower than the winner of the Men's 10km C Salcedo didn't start, so she will not count because she never try to set a time. Then we come to the controversial part. Laczko DNF, but because she started, and tried to set a time, she will count. Klobuczek's time of 25:50.8 is the mark. If the winner time in the Men's 10km C is under this, the answer will be yes.
  7. Yes. Example: Norway's Men's Relay wins gold. Athletes on Relay: Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo, Martin Johnsrud Sundby, Sjur Roethe, Emil Iversen. 2 medals won by athletes with three names. I can see that the question maybe isn´t formulated precisely enough. "At least one defending champion (from 2017) will win a gold medal". In my opinion, and what I meant with the question, is that a defending champion/gold medalist from 2017 will win a gold medal in any event. It would probably have been more precise if the question was, " At least one gold medallist from 2017 will win a gold medal". 1) As you write in your comment, Klaebo is a good sprinter, and therefore he would likely be put last in the relay, so if you had some knowledge about his strengths, you could predict he would be put last in the relay. (Also he is a better freestyle skier than for example Iversen, who he is also a good sprinter.) 2) That is just a fun, sort of silly question which is a pure guess for all betters/predicters in the contest. Of course it would be annoying if you lost by one point and you got the question wrong, but that is how it is for all user in this bet contest. By the way, comments and criticism like this are really welcoming. This is the first time I have hosted a betting/prediction contest, so all comments and opinions how I, as a host, and the contest could be improved are very welcoming.
  8. Well the war between Sweden and Norway has started (or it continues)...
  9. I don't see why surfing would be interesting...

  11. I have just read an interview with Emil Iversen and Björn Dæhlie. Both Iversen and Klaebo expect to start in the first five races in Seefeld (Sprint, Skiathlon, Team Sprint, 15km Classical and Relay). I guess that means Iversen is not going to start in the 50km Mass Start because that would mean he would go all 6 races at the WCH.
  12. Nilsson was injured in the semifinal in Otepää back in January
  13. Sometimes I wonder why IOC created YOG, when they are turning the Olympics into the YOG featuring adults...
  14. I'm not fan of including any dancesport, but if you had to include something, Standard and Latin would be much more fitting for the Olympics.
  15. Yes. To clarify, all questions where the words "individual event/s" don't appear, team events will also count. This question is the only exception. Obviously, the team event and team sprint don't count. 9- Germany will have at least 2 or more athletes on the podium in the same event [YES/NO - X]
  16. The Swedish national team manager, Rikard Grip, expects Nilsson to be on the starting line for the sprint. Stina Nilsson is currently in Seefeld where she rehabilitates her injured thigh. - We believe and hope that Stina is on the starting line on Thursday. It is our ambition. But we are still humble. There can still be setbacks, though nothing indicates that at the moment, says Grip to SVT Sport. https://www.svt.se/sport/langdskidor/grip-om-stina-nilsson (In Swedish)
  17. Short answer: Yes, they do. The list of defending champions (from 2017): Stefan Kraft, Piotr Zyla, Dawid Kubacki, Maciej Kot, Kamil Stoch, Carina Voigt, Marcus Eisenbichler, Svenja Würth, Andreas Wellinger.
  18. "Hello Mr. heywoodu We have received your comment about formulation of a question in the bet contest. We will take your comment in consideration in relation to the formulation of the questions in future bet contests. Have a nice day, Mr. heywoodu P.s. Please keep your head above sea level. I know it will be difficult in the Netherlands, or as we call it, Holland. We all know, Noord- and Zuid-Holland are the two most important provinces in the Kingdom of the Netherlands". For this bet contest it counts as two names, hence why I took him as an example, so no one would be in doubt.
  19. Stockholm 2026 is looking great at the moment. Are has proven how you organise some good alpine competitions... Oh wait..
  20. The groups for the Davis Cup Finals
  21. Trump will declare a national emergency. WOW!
  22. Yes it is. A situation with conflicts is not the optimal way of creating new talents for the future. I would much rather prefer a stable situation, where players could train and develop their play. I'm also frustrated to see the lack of female singles talents. Mia Blichfeldt is okay, max a top 10 player, not a top 5. I miss players like Tine Baun/Rasmussen, Camilla Martin, and before my time, Lene Koppen. I do not understand why we can't develop a good Women's Singles player? We can develop male Singles players and male Doubles players. Women's Doubles is not looking good either. After Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christina Pedersen decided to have a child together, and Kamilla decided to carry their child, we didn't have a second pair to take over for them. We have zero relevance in Women's Doubles at the moment.
  23. I guess only the players and Badminton Denmark are the only ones who know why Danish badminton has turned in to such a mess. I can probably try to contact the badminton experts on danish tv to hear if they know why there have been so many conflicts in the recent years. Steen Pedersen trained the players when they were in conflict with Badminton Denmark. He was clearly annoyed by the situation Danish badminton was in, but he is not considering returing as national coach at the moment.
  24. As Shakespeare once wrote, "There is something rotten in the state of Denmark".
