  1. Kim Iseul ranked 23rd with 238kg from Group C leads with a new PB of 255kg at 8th position in qualification. She didn't miss 261kg total by a big margin though. Kim Suhyeon is displaced and need 256 now to leapfrog her country woman to go to Paris
  2. Also 4 lifters from Group B medalled. Don't know if that happened before!
  3. Men's 102kg Snatch Medals C&J Medals Total Medals Seven Nations medalled. Must be a record!
  4. Yauheni Tskiantsou almost won gold in the final attempt even before group A started. Even if he tried 221 might have won gold today but he was so close to 225 and 408 total, 4kg ahead of Li. Ends at 400kg let's see what happens.
  5. Don Opeloge 391kg Hasanbayev 392kg in Qualifying position
  6. She can. The French woman has qualified on own merit(top 10) or may even opt to lift in 81kg where she's qualified. Host nation counted when athlete has not qualified normally (ie finished top 10)
  7. Martin Garcia finished 6th yesterday in Men's 81kg, non Olympic event, best performance ever by a Timor Leste athlete in any sport at top level.
  8. We may have missed Tonga but I think the qualifier was great overall. Record participation, many close fights, upsets. I think this Oceania qualifier should stay for long. I think in combat sports this is the best chance to qualify multiple athletes if the ecosystem is strong in Oceania. While wrestling also has direct qualifiers, due to Africa it's a little harder. Boxing needs a limit on Australia say max 8.
  9. Top Matches Qualifying Session Men 58 68 80 Women 57 67 Finals +67 -68 +80 - Best These were the closest matches of the day. If at all someone wants to re-watch them.
  10. Men's 58 68* 80 +80 *Reallocation to if NZ declines
  11. What a match that was both athletes on ground and unable to get up
  12. https://m.facebook.com/OceaniaTaekwondoUnion https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1143934/taekwondo-new-zealand-athletes-suffer There are just here for competition experience I believe
  13. But New Zealand is not eligible for quota as mentioned by Oceania Taekwondo Union. So they only get medals.
  14. Women's Quotas If NZNOC allows: 49 57 67 +67 If not (more likely) gets 67
  15. Best chance for was -67 where Lolohea won 10-5 in Rd1. After that she had no energy in next 2 rounds against New Zealand athlete. is really good this time with a great ecosystem for Taekwondo with a Korean coach.
  16. Taekwondo is rising in Oceania. Suddenly a month before you can't come back to a sport and expect to qualify.
  17. Qualifying starts at 9am Solomon Islands Time, around 4 hours from now. If anyone has a livestream do share.
  18. Oceania Para Taekwondo Qualifiers Men 58 63 75 80 +80 Women 57 65 +65 https://worldtkd.simplycompete.com/eventDetails/11eecb3d-590c-f905-89b6-06b7c1869f97/5 8 athletes registered and weighed in today. 1 in each category.
  19. NZNOC considering TNZ, is it official. OTU still says there are not recognised, on Facebook page
  20. http://www.worldtaekwondo.org/notice/view.html?nid=141028
  21. I think this thread could be worked upon again. Now that South Pacific has the biggest squad in Paris and won 2 medals in Tokyo for a best ever performance.
