Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis surrender meekly to the unseeded duo of Krejcikova and Siniakova 6-3 6-2 in the third round of the French Open. They couldn't hold serve even once in the second set.

That's a bad news.....

Another bad news. Bopanna - Kudryavtseva go down to the top seeds in the mixed doubles. Atleast they gave a fight - 6-2, 3-6, 8-10.

Rowing

Preparations of Dattu Bhokanal

Currently he is training at the Army Sports Institute , Pune

He will travel to Miami on June 14, where he will train under their coaches for five weeks so as to get used to conditions, and familiarise himself with the food. “For the past six months, Ihe has been training under a coach from USA, Paul Singh Mokka, in Pune.

The Rowing Federation of India (RFI) wanted Dattu to travel to Italy for an exposure trip ahead of the Rio Games, but he chose to abide by the Army’s, his employers, words and go to Miami, much to the chagrin of the RFI. He felt his employers helped him when he was injured, and he also practises a lot in Pune with the same coach, Paul Singh. So he decided to follow Army’s programme.

There was confusion over whether national coach Ismail Baig would accompany the rower to Rio, since his personal coach Paul Singh  will also be going with him. But Dattu cleared the air, saying both will travel with him. “Ismail sir will leave for Miami on June 17, after which he and Paul Singh sir will take care of my training. Both will also come with me to Rio,” he said.

    • Some notable  retirements:   Elisavet Pesiridou (athletics - 100m hurdles) - She announced her retirement on her 34th birthday. She competed in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. She narrowly missed Paris 2024 despite being in good form, the rest of he field seemed to get stronger and her ranking was a bit lower even though she was quite consistent. She struggled with injuries in 2025.   Fani Tzeli (taekwondo) - She was 7th in Tokyo 2020 but didn't qualify for Paris 2024. Still, she is only 24 yo and seemed to be rising up again after winning bronze at the European Championships so it is a bit surprising.   Aikaterini Divari (sailing) - She competed in Tokyo 2020 but didn't qualify for Paris 2024. Only 25 yo.   AJ Ginnis (alpine skiing) - Despite winning a silver at the World Championships he never got to compete at the Winter Olympics as he was always unfortunately injured. A shame as he is by far our best winter athlete ever. Only 31 yo, and I have a feeling he might come back in 2030 based on his last interview...
