Siver Medal for India ??

First Medal for India At Tokyo Olympic

Mirabai Chanu  lifted 202 kg to win Silver medal for India . 

She lifted 87kg in Snatch and 115 kg in Clean and jerk to finish behind China who lifted 210 (OR)

such a disappointment saurabh is eliminated at 6th position in finals...

 

thats why had it could been 2 finalists for india, most probably india could have won the medal

As i was saying in shooting we have to lower our expectations...only saurabh seems more composed but he lost in final

 

With the way things are going Only medal options left for india in shooting is in mixed team events

One more good news is chirag and satwik got the all important win over 3rd seed chinese taipei team...

 

It was very tough match where they came back in 3rd thrilling set

 

They need one more win to move to quarters !!!

    • Germany also fell hard in this discipline, the same thing happened to Russia - in 2022 they were much weaker than before. Romania – similar levels for years. France – strong growth until 2024, and now a decline again. Georgia – growth, but a large number of naturalized people from the Balkans play there. Generally, I see Georgia has been naturalizing a lot in various sports lately: water polo, figure skating, etc. Could that local regime there be spending much more money to further promote the country through sports?

    • To be fair,  has been active in men's water polo for about a decade. I've been using them as a barometer for whether a European nation is relevant.   I'd love to see them face non-European nations some time to see how they'd stack up.
