In recent past , Odisha has become the factory for producing India's short distance sprinters like Srabani Nanda , Dutee Chand and Amiya Kumar Mallick.
According to Odia media, Sukhi Baskey is an upcoming talent from Odisha and is the next big thing in Indian sprint circuit.

Todays 4 X 100 m women  team composition for India which broke 18 year old national record :yikes:

The Indian team ran with Merlin starting the race with Jyoti running the second followed by the Srabani with Dutee running the anchor leg.

   definitely this team can do much better still ............... for comparison the china womens 4*100  in the asian games had the top two runners at 11.48 and 11.55 we have three runners doing better .... the china team 4*100 ran 42.83 ....................if we run a really smooth race we can run 42.5 i feel ...... no wonder the coaches are focussing on this event more than the 100 m individual

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
