Team USA - Beach Volleyball

Beach Volleyball getting underway tonight in India.

 

Looking to LA28, we get one freebie team per gender, with the opportunity to earn one more per gender.  We can do that by:

-Winning the NORCECA Continental Championship (4-9 Nov 2026)

-Winning the WCh in 2027

-Being in the Top 14ish of the Olympic Rankings in March 2028, minus anyone else already qualified, so really Top 20ish.

-Winning one of three OQS in 2028

 

We've sent two teams each the past few Olympics, and the same should be true here.  If we only send one team, it will be for the men, but I don't think our placement is in too much danger.  (We currently have a team at 19 and 20 in the rankings now.)

Too bad this is another sport that you need a subscription for to watch the elite levels.

 

QF are about to start.  We have 1 duo of M, and 4 duos of W.

Cruz/Brasher and Kraft/Cheng into the SF for the W.

 

Crabb/Benesh for the M are also into the SF.  

 

Games will start at 7 in the morning EDT.

Last week in Elite, we took home a gold (Cruz/Brasher for W) and two bronzes (Crabb/Benesh for M, Kraft/Cheng for W).

 

Even in Challenge this past week, we took home two bronze medals.

And one more bronze in a Beach Volleyball Challenge event for the Women.    (It was another duo different than last week.)
