Weightlifting EWF European Championships 2026

Recommended Posts

For Italy, these are the worst European Championships since Covid- only 1 medal. I know Russia and Blr are back, but we're still stand in our results when a Finnish or Ukrainian girls is making progress. Finland probably didn't mean anything in this sport back then. Where did this girl come from, does anyone know?

If Pizzolato will to return, would it be to the 86 kg category, or the 94 kg category, like Nasar? In 2024, they were both in the 89 kg category, which will no longer be at the Olympics, but in 2021 in Tokyo, Pizzolato won a medal in the 81 kg category.

Of course, it's unclear what's going on with the rape accusations- personally, unfortunately, I don't think he was ever a sweet angel- he was accused of other immoral things also 10 years ago, but gang rape? I find that hard to believe... Besides, Moldova has appealed about his bronze medal from Paris 2024 to the CAS- the verdict was supposed to be in February. Do you know anything about this? Did they have any grounds for this lawsuit at all?

Does the CAS have the authority to address from someone who believes the judges made a mistake in a given discipline? Pizzolato's last attempt at Paris 2024, which earned him the bronze medal, was controversial, but what does the CAS have to do with it? Even if the judges made a mistake then, the result won't change and this isn't the only case where someone feels wronged with this in world of sports. Unless, of course, they have some evidence of corruption or something like that:question:

if they will bring him back to the NT (this is the question, not if he comes back or not), surely it will be in the 86kg class

Moldova's case doesn't have any chance, it will be dismissed

CAS can't overturn any result on the pitch, unless cheating (doping or blatant corruption) is proven

    • Not in modern times (believe it has happened back in the 19th century). The Social Democrats were rather close in the mid-30s, but generally it's been the Social Democrats as the largest getting challenged by either Venstre (the old, liberal party) or the Conservatives (though their latest peak was in the 80s). Keep in mind that most Danish governments have been minority governments. The latest government (well, it's still the government until the new one is formed) was the first one since the early 90s and only the 5th since the Second World War.
