LA28 Tickets, Trips & Experiences Road to LA 2028

I'm thinking about going to LA28. I want to make a place where we can discuss some of our plans so we can share ideas for ticketing, accommodations, travel, etc.

I want to start with this question:

Which venues/events/sports do you think are must see for LA28?

If anyone has been to a summer Olympics before and wants to chime in based on past experiences, that would be greatly appreciated!

A few sports and venues that are at the top of my list:

- Athletics (would love to go see the LA Coliseum)

- Beach Volleyball (always looks like the most fun sport at any Olympics)

- Table Tennis (personal favorite of mine)

- Diving or Soccer in Pasadena (love the picturesque mountains in that area of LA)

Yes! Thanks for this thread.

I just saw where the first ticket drop will be some time in April (crazy...two years ahead of time!).

My wife would love to see a women's basketball game (specifically Team USA...but I don't think we'll be able to know which game will be theirs), or women's volleyball.

I personally would love to see sport climbing (boulder, preferably) or table tennis. Perhaps even Modern Pentathlon (would get to see a variety of things).

Gymnastics would be fun, depending on the event.

I'm mostly curious about how much tickets are going to be running for events...we're over here on two teacher salaries, and we'd be taking our two kids with us.

Oh, and of course, top of my bucket list would be Opening Ceremonies...but I think that will need to be something for after the kids are out of the house and we'd only have to buy two tickets.

Yeah hard to plan two years in advance. But, just trying to narrow down what sports and venues I want to see.

Tickets seem to be reasonable (they start at $28). But, who knows what percentage of tickets will actually be $28.

I imagine gymnastics and basketball will be among the more expensive tickets, so I may stick to the more obscure sports like table tennis.

The problem with volleyball is that it is in Anaheim, which is far from the other venues. Would to go to volleyball, but would have to figure out transportation.

I'll skip the ceremonies. Don't think it's worth the price, but that's my opinion.

Plus, with it being in two locations + OKC, the tv coverage will probably be better than the in-person experience. Milan seemed awkward for the crowd that was there because there was stuff going on in four different locations.

Where are you seeing ticket prices already? Edit: I see on the official page they've got that listed.  I was hoping for more event by event...but that seems to be coming in April.

I also haven't begun to look at maps yet.  I imagine that when we go, we'll also incorporate some other SoCal sightseeing (maybe even venturing to other parts of the state, national parks, etc.).  I've never been to Cali at all.  But yeah, geography will figure into all of this.

Oh, are the ceremonies also gonna be in OKC, too?  Yeah, Paris and to a lesser extent MiCo seemed to be games where it was better on TV.  I'd want to go to a ceremony where everything was right there in one spot.

Yeah I get the vibe that it will be a split ceremony between Sofi and the Coliseum. Maybe something small in OKC for the athletes there as well.

I doubt you'll get everything in one place. Maybe they'll have the full parade of athletes at either Sofi or the Coliseum. Not 100% sure how it's going to work, but it will be split in some capacity.
