copravolley 257 Posted May 28 #31 Share Posted May 28 (edited) Italy on 99% without any women in shooting (apart from shotgun, of course). In the previous 2 editions we had only 1 girl each: in Tokyo - Sofia Ceccarello won QO at the last possible competition: European Championships in May 2021. Now, unfortunately, we didn't repeat it out and it wasn't even close. The problem seems to be very serious and deep. Overall now we have 11 qualifications + Rossetti from the ranking in men's skeet and I hope that Spinella/Mazzetti will advance tomorrow or the first will move from the ranking in June. It turns out that we will send 13 people to Paris (1 person less than in Tokyo). Edited May 28 by copravolley

It seems that these girls are not making any progress and Ceccarello is actually regressing. Edited May 28 by copravolley

They haven't officially qualified for the 25m though, they're given the option to enter through qualifying for the 10m. Also the quota is for the NOC not the athlete, so as neither NOC or athletes have qualified for the 25m via the requisite qualifying routes then they are able to gain a quota here. But also the rules say that one athlete cannot earn 2 quotas despite it is in a different discipline. Because Korakari and Jedrzejewski won the quota on 10m Pistol, the same athlete cannot win the quota in another event, especially when these 2 events are related, so when you earn quota in one of them, you can participate in both events at the Games.... avlar
