Interesting duels in the final days in the medal count

Brazil is the clear winner, nothing to say here.

Colombia and USA are fighting for the second place with only one gold diference in this moments, before yesterday i thinked this place is for Colombia but i presume for mostly for artistic gymnastics USA will defeat Colombia, even with the weightlifting in favor of the "Cafeteros".

Mexico, Argentina and Chile are fighting for the fourth place........i dont believe Chile has too much to be in the figth, sadly for us, Mexico still has artistic swimming and that 3 golds in this last days will be the diference.

Canada and Cuba for the seventh place......this is the most dificult to predict for me, with the presence of boxing i will say Cuba but is not the situation, Cuba is clearly weak like the country is worse and worse every year, so i presume this place will be for Canada.

Venezuela, Guatemala and Ecuador for the ninth place, only for wrestling (may be athletics) i say Venezuela will win.

I want to read others opinions.

Colombia vs. United States for 2nd will be interesting to watch.

I think Chile has a better chance of falling to 7th than finishing 4th.

Ecuador will probably move ahead of Guatemala to finish in the top 10.

Still lots in play in the overall medal table.

Im surprised about what you say about Chile, for you, Canada or Cuba can be the sixth?

It's possible, but requires a lot of things to go our way. The statement was more that I find it very unlikely for Chile to move up on its current ranking, Mexico and Argentina are too far away in my opinion.

    • Shades of 1998 with  and  in the same group but this time it's really a terrible draw for the Thistles. I recall Brazil and Scotland played in the same group in 1974 and 1990 too so that's quite a high probabiliy rate.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
