It's been a slow start to the winter for many West Coast North American ski resorts, but you'll see plenty of snow on the broadcast today. I'm still sizing up the prospect of digging my way out and heading to the venue -
Aerials WC Ruka Women Gold- Xu Mengtao (89.28) Silver- Marion Thenault (83.28) Bronze- Chen Meiting (75.31) Men Gold- Oleksandr Okipniuk (130.56) Silver- Pirmin Werner (109.95) Bronze- Christopher Lillis (109.74) Rare day with no Chinese on the podium, 5th and 6th in the final for them. Great to see the Poles coming out again for their Wisla round. The atmosphere is on hand as usual. With all due respect to Norway, Finland and Sweden who have invented these sports, but in the last couple of years it's painful to watch the starts in Scandinavia with 30 people in the stands.. It is always a shock how barely anybody goes out to watch a WC round in a historical sport for that nation. Same goes for the cross-country, Nordic combined races we had. Only biathlon managed to pull a nice crowd in Ostersund.
