Looks like that dropped landing on his first vault has cost Jarman the all-around title. Despite putting in one of his best floor routines for a long time, he comes up 0.550 short of Fraser.

His second vault got a 14.8 so absolutely cost him the all round. Jarman ‘s floor is competitive in an individual final… such a high ceiling if he has a routine that is clean

On the women's side Ondine scores a 55.9 which is competitive (would have placed 4th at World's last year), but beyond that...Rebecca Downie hits a 14.350 on uneven bars to boost her chances.

No Kinsella.

Ruby Evans takes 2nd with 53.2 and Abigail Martin 3rd with 52.450.

Clear that without the Gadirova twins the GB women are light, such a shame.

Such a shame as with Russia banned a medal would have been achievable. Funding is going to be under heavy scrutiny for all sports.

From all of their injuries it would seem Poppy Stickler has the best chance of making it back, from the vertebrae and hip issues.

Jess with an ACL surgery in December I don’t see how she can be ready for selection in June. Jen’s recovery seems harder to gauge as it has taken longer than expected, perhaps slightly more hope for her than her sister

As you say, it's difficult to gauge where everyone is in their recovery - obviously it is personal and private, but I do think British Gymnastics are missing in action in terms of providing any kind of update. From what I can gather:

Jessica Gadirova - Should now be in week 14/15 of post-op rehab. From videos posted on Instagram she's still doing strength and conditioning work. Unlikely to be back in time for consideration for Paris.

Jennifer Gadirova - She was back in training but had ended up having arthroscopy on her ankle about 9-10 weeks ago. She hasn't posted much about her recovery other than a post at the end of February confirming she hadn't been cleared for a return to training and she is not expecting to be back for the upcoming world cups. Hasn't competed in any of the DSEs so far so difficult to see how she can get back on to the team.

Alice Kinsella - She was due to take part in the British Champs this weekend but withdrew. From a twitter post, it looks like an arm injury took her out of the competition but no indication of whether it is serious or not.

Poppy Strickler - Back and hip injury at the start of the year so difficult to see her being in contention for the squad.

They'll be begging Fragapane to suit up again....

It’s just a really unfortunate set of circumstances. Still, on the positive side, Ondine still has a chance at a minor medal in the all around. She would need to put together the competition of her life but she should be in the mix.

As an add on; the Gadirova twins were just on the BBC coverage. Jen said it “would be hard” for either of them to make Paris and it generally didn’t sound like either is targeting it right now.

Jess did mention she is moving into the next stage of her recovery, finishing the Strength work she has been doing lately.

They both have time for another Olympics, and I'd imagine they'd be hungry for it. Without them, of course, GB loses any realistic chance of a team medal, and loses its floor and AA threat. Wonder if this plays into Beckie's hands as a plausible - if no longer likely - UB outside medal chance? And penny for the thoughts perhaps, of her retired sister?

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
