They're based on four things:
1. A factor (800 for interval starts, 1200 for sprint qualifying, 1400 for mass starts/skiathlons)
2. The winner's time
3. The time of athlete X (the one you want to calculate the points for)
4. The current FIS points of the athletes in the top-5 of the race
I know there are two formulas FIS uses, which obviously result in the same points total, but I don't have them in mind
