the Team Relay (2*2*1.25k) has been definitively cancelled... :nopompom:

Well, some good news at least :p

And the 25k starting at 14.00 seems fun, after-dinner open water swimming :cheer:

Spoiler

Edit: just realized I'll be having dinner in a restaurant, so forget about the last part, I'll watch that later :d

LOL, the Team Event is back on the schedule, it will be on Sunday. Don't ask me how some of the swimmers will do the 10km and the team event on the same day.

everything's still TBC, in any case...

forecast is not that promising...

and some swimmers are trying to make their voice heard and said that the races shouldn't be held with such kind of waves (Paltrinieri being the leader of them)...

I was sure that the pool specialists were going to complain if we really went back to the old glory days of Open Water Swimming...

Maybe they won't be allowed, just like apparently nobody is allowed to do both the 5k and 25k today even if they wanted (like Van Rouwendaal).

The team event will be a joke if they won't allow them to do both. Everyone would choose 10k over the team event if they have to.

Could be some similarities yes, for example your nickname perfectly translates to Macedonian in Lithuanian, wouldn't even need to change a single letter.

Your question caused me to go on a google rampage and I found some info.

Arijus Pavlidi was born and raised in Vilnius, Lithuania, he has now moved to train in Thailand.

His grandpa was Greek and moved to live in Lithuania.

My nickname also means Macedonian in Greek ;)

Interesting about his grandfather. Pavlidis is a very common Greek surname btw. For example we have a footballer on our national team with that name, he scored for AZ Alkmaar in each of their last two European matches this summer. Also we have a male discus thrower with that surname, he finished 4th a couple weeks ago at the U20 World Championships.
