And there is also an outside chance in fencing (foil). We have a couple of fencers that are actually not bad at all. But it is going to be an uphill battle for them.

Is there any chance for Mia Radotic in women's cycling?

theoretically yes

she has to be among 100 in the olympic ranking as of end of may, currently she is 182nd,

she would need one or two great results at important races

But the injury that she sustained in a crash last year didn't help at all. She was just hitting the top form and started collecting some qualification points when it happened.

Does anyone know which are the competitions where our athletes in swimming and athletics (marathon) will try to reach olympic standards.

I don't know for swimming exactly, but in athletics it is usually meetings in Croatia and Slovenia/Austria/Italy. And also Croatian club championships and senior championships (which is usually held the last weekend before the qualification period ends)..

In athletics I am interested to know about marathon runs where our athletes will try to reach olympic standards. I suppose that they can compete in few marathons before olympics so there is not much competitions for them.

In swimminjg i guess there will be two major events where our swimmers will target the entry standards. First one is the European Championship in London (end of May) and Zlatni Medvjed in Zagreb (Mid of June). The qualification period ends beginning of July.

I guess our "Americans" will try at some events in the USA (Loncar and Krznaric).

In maraton we have one place left (woman) and for man there is actually only one candidate (Daniel Daly). I gues Daniel will run a marathon in the USA.

    • Despite total domination by the Norwegian men (and yes, it's exhausting and boring), the accomplishments this weekend of Emil Iversen and Einar Hedegart are worth highlighting, despite them being Norwegian.    Iversen was dropped by the Norwegian national team after the opener in Beitostølen 2 weeks ago and was not taken to Ruka. Instead, he won both the 10k and 20k Interval Classic starts in Gålå in the Norwegian Cup last week, which granted him a spot on the start line in Trondheim. He took full advantage of that opportunity and finished on the podium in the skiathlon, and finished just off the podium in today's 10k Interval Freestyle. This definitely puts his name in serious contention for a spot on the Olympic team, which looked incredibly doubtful just a few days ago.    Einar Hedegart, the 24-year-old biathlete who decided to challenge the stereotype that biathletes are inferior skiers to their cross-country counterparts, just won the 10k Interval Start against all of Norway's best in a de facto Olympic trial.    Yes, it's exhausting seeing nothing but Norwegian flags on the men's side, but there can be excitement just beneath the surface at times.
