Viki is convinced she qualified, let´s hope she is not wrong :) so it looks then for a return of the country in the sport at the Olympics after missing PyeongChang for ineligibility of start of our pilot (naturalized czech...Jesus christ how stupidly this sounds lol)

One day left with just a couple of things left to decide; In the Women's can Andreutti pull off a miracle (top 6) and catch Boch for the last quota in the 2s, GER and CAN are in with 3, USA, CHN, RUS, SUI are in with 2, then AUT, ROU, AUS, GBR, BEL are in with 1.  The monobob has USA,GER,CAN,CHN in with 2 and then RUS, AUS, SUI, ROU, AUT, FRA, NED, KOR, SVK, JAM, UKR, ITA.  Nigerian just missed a last day miracle.

The 4man has all the countries decided but down to the wire between RUS and CAN for 3 sleds, and ITA, GBR, and (can Cipulis pull off a miracle) maybe LAT for the last spot with 2 sleds.

These should be the Two-Man quotas:

3 sleds:

:CAN Canada

:GER Germany

2 sleds:

:AUT Austria

:CHN China

:LAT Latvia

:ROC ROC

:KOR South Korea

:SUI Switzerland

:USA United States

1 sled:

:BRA Brazil

:CZE Czechia

:FRA France

:GBR Great Britain

:ITA Italy

:JAM Jamaica

:MON Monaco

:NED Netherlands

:ROU Romania

:TTO Trinidad and Tobago

:TTO Trinidad and Tobago becomes the 91st NOC to qualify. Netherlands should reject the quota which means that :ISR Israel would get the last spot. :CRO Croatia would be the first reserve.

Going to take a break from this site for a bit. See you guys soon!

Looks right to me.  I crunched the numbers and now all Canada has to do to get a 3rd sled in the 4-man is have Spring finish in the top 20 (he needs 66 points).  The russians could have made it interesting by switching up their drivers on the last weekend and giving Stulnev a WC start. Deen needs to outscore Variola by 102 for the last spot with 2 sleds (Variola's score improves if he finishes above 25th).

And that's a wrap for the bobsleigh quotas

Four-Man

3 sleds:

:CAN Canada, :GER Germany

2 sleds:

:AUT Austria, :CHN China, :ITA Italy, :ROC ROC, :KOR South Korea, :SUI Switzerland, :USA United States

1 sled:

:BRA Brazil, :CZE Czechia, :FRA France, :GBR Great Britain, :JAM Jamaica, :LAT Latvia, :NED Netherlands, :ROU Romania

As usual, :CRO Croatia is the first reserve but should get a quota since the Netherlands will probably reject. :AUS Australia is the 2nd reserve.

Women's Monobob:

2 sleds:

:CAN Canada, :CHN China, :GER Germany, :USA United States

1 sled:

:AUS, Australia, :AUT Austria, :FRA France, :ITA Italy, :JAM Jamaica, :NED Netherlands, :ROU Romania, :ROC ROC, :SVK Slovakia, :KOR South Korea, :SUI Switzerland, :UKR Ukraine

Brazil loses their monobob quota. They're the second reserve with Nigeria being the first reserve.

Two-Woman

3 sleds:

:CAN Canada, :GER Germany

2 sleds:

:CHN China, :ROC ROC, :SUI Switzerland, :USA United States

1 sled:

:AUS Australia, :AUT Austria, :BEL Belgium, :FRA France, :GBR Great Britain, :ROU Romania

Unfortunately, it looks like Ashleigh Werner testing positive for COVID caused Australia to lose their second sled. Belgium kicks Jamaica out of a two-woman quota.

From Olympic Qualification system IBSF: ,,If there are places still available for reallocation, only NOCs which do not already have a qualified team by the end of the qualification period will be considered".

So first reserve is Nigeria nad second Poland.

Actually Brazil and Nigeria are tied and the tie-breaker is the single best result; Nigeria 120, Brazil 88.

So :ISR could have an athlete in bobsleigh?

Yes. I believe Israel is currently the first reserve in the two-man event but Netherlands will likely reject their quota because they haven't met their own qualification standards.

    • That's kinda standard procedure when you only have one race at a given venue. Adelboden used to be held on Tuesdays or Wednesdays when they only run a single GS back in the day.
    • Not sure why this Kronplatz GS is always in the middle of the day on a workday.. I've said it many times how much I enjoy the night events, but if they don't have the money for lights, just have it on an empty weekend, or on a holiday around Christmas/ New Years. It's stupid to have it on a random Tuesday at noon..
    • With any luck it's where slopestyle will be at the 2038 Olympics.
    • Brignone & Hector bomb out in 2nd run and Alice Robinson wins the Kronplatz GS after a massive 2nd run. Brignone had 0,81 advantage after the first split and made a simple error so it's Colturi as the best Italian in 4th. Bassino DNS in the 1st run but I don't know why.
