In athletics, Julia Paternain finished third at the World Championship marathon in Tokyo with 2'27.23.

She was born in Mexico, was raised in Britain, and currently lives in the United States. But both her parents are Uruguayan, and when she realized she got a medal, she shook her shirt and shouted "¡Uruguay nomás!" - therefore she is a certified Uruguayan :)
