Our focus is translating global interest into meaningful, well-managed experiences that means thinking not just about visibility, but about legacy.”   Well, Santa Monica can just fuck all the way off.  Besides the vaporous word salad in the quote, they were asked to host the Beach Volleyball tournament, but refused, saying (literally) that they should just free ride on all the other places that are hosting events and just reap the rewards of the increased tourism.
