  2. @Griff88 will be hosted at one of my favorite places in California though, especially since my family is half Danish/Norwegian American.
  3. We might all end up there for the grand final...
  4. I think this explains it a bit: https://www.nps.gov/moja/learn/historyculture/zzyzx.htm
  5. Putting the host in Zzyzx is a cruel way to payback our hospitality y'all
  6. Should point out the orange fish was a "Garibaldi," not a beetle
  7. Good ole' Cobb Salad. Never had one in my life
  8. @mrv86 gets wonderful accommodations and catering. Unfortunately, that's about all there is to Santa Nella. Hope you like pea soup!
  9. The archenemies of the California agricultural sector you mean
  10. Silver actually. Graphics show they’ve awarded a dead heat tie for second.
  11. Great finish to the men's road race. Phenomenal crowd and clean sprint. Carapaz pays back Narvaez for the work he did for him in Tokyo. Victory for @hckošice
  12. Not attacking Aular on the final climb seems like a dumb choice from Viduarre and Carapaz
  13. Carapaz goes down at the start of the final climb
  14. Keep him away from Groveland! Don't doom the town!
  15. Handball games postponed a little bit.
  16. If you'd like to cast votes you still can. I just need them in the next few days.
  17. Draw: Introduction Welcome All, Today’s draw will determine the voting positions for the 2023 Totallympics Open International Song Contest. Volunteers will choose a symbol of California, along with a host community to allocate a voting position to each national jury. The table of symbols includes 24 officially designed symbols of California, along with 12 other animals, objects, sports, etc. that are intrinsically connected to California. Our host communities were selected according to their reputation as road trip destinations in line with the theme for this edition. They span the width and length of California. I wish everyone the best luck in being allocated a position that allows them to post their votes live. With that, I hand the reins over to @mrv86. Let the draw begin!
  18. Official Announcement has not voted. They will be allocated a voting position, but their participation should be considered conditional upon them submitting votes in the next few days. Should they not vote, I will leave that time slot open as a short break, or move up the time slots of other juries slightly. The team event draw will not take place today, so there will be no effect on that event.
  19. gets a medal in kayak cross. I guess this discipline isn’t all bad
  20. should all be qualified, with one wildcard TBD since didn’t compete.
  21. This was also the qualification event for the 2025 World Games
  22. Draw: Our Venue Happy TISC Everyone! The voting is behind us, in theory more than practice for some (you know who you are), which means it’s nearly time to conduct the draw for voting positions. Of course, we can’t conduct the draw without a proper venue. I considered a handful of options, but I think there’s only one real choice for this occasion. Therefore, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone to the official state theater of California, the Pasadena Playhouse. By Jeff Lorch, Pasadena Playhouse - pasadenaplayhouse.org, CC BY-SA 4.0, Link The theater was constructed through a community fundraising effort in the Los Angeles suburb of Pasadena in the 1920s. It was built to resemble Spanish colonial style buildings, and soon became a cornerstone establishment of American theater. It has a limited capacity, but there should be plenty of room to conduct today’s proceedings. If you’d like to have a look around the theater while we wait for the draw to begin, you can check out this article put together by theater photographer Mike Hume.
  23. Bach, Bach, Bach…
