Well based off the countries that have announced teams, it does appear we will see quite a few elite athletes here.

The events are the same as the last games. The quotas were reduced. Countries can have 2 gymnasts per gender in artistic. The acrobatic program does suck, but aerobic makes sense. They don’t even have individual aerobic at the World Games anymore, and I’m fine without the useless Trio event. I’m cool with synchronized trampoline, I just wished they would’ve added tumbling.

Well, these sports all offer qualification to Tokyo 2020 (with the exception of Beach Soccer). The omission of volleyball, fencing, triathlon, and BMX did not make sense too me besides the fact that Belarus is not good in those events. I’m still invested in these games, though I will admit that Baku was much better.

It’s a shame I can’t watch these games. I was ready to watch some premiere small state sports . I feel like most of that is out of the hands of the organizers though. Based off the master schedule on the app, the games will be live from 23:00-10:00 my time daily. There goes my sleep schedule. I loved the European Games in 2015. I really don’t know why, I just did; so I can’t wait for these games.

X Games China, good idea, bad in real life. Athletes have already gotten in trouble in shops, stakeboarding in streets, and at Disneyland. I know the youngest athlete there got his skateboard confiscated, and then his dad got in trouble for filming the police. I want to meet the person who suggested we send anti-culture, western millennials, and free spirited athletes to PR China and thought this was a good idea. I know China isn’t as strict as people think it is, but even I knew that they’d have trouble. This should be an interesting week for X Games.
