  1. Well the technical guide, website, and Wikipedia disagree with that.
  2. @dcro And Josh, This will serve as the Group F Jumping qualification from what I’ve seen. Group F was supposed to be held in Rabat, so it makes sense.
  3. Skis are generally around $300-800 USD I think. I looked at getting a pair two years ago, but I need to move somewhere closer to snow first. I’d only need one pair because I only do the classic technique.
  4. Me too, see them all over my town.
  5. Huge announcement from USA Baseball today: https://www.usabaseball.com/news/joe-girardi-named-team-usa-premier12-manager/c-309769698?tid=216632610 I have much respect for what this man can do with a team. It should be interesting to see how much he improves the national team.
  6. I think you mean the ISU (International Skating Union) and not the FISU (Federation International Sport De University), who among other things organize the universiades . I would be ok losing Artistic Skating (even though I quite enjoyed it), but Speed Skating is a high level sport amongst the Pan American nations, so it should most certainly be kept on the program.
  7. Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I was a little confused when looking at the schedule as to why Judo finished before the opening ceremonies began.
  8. The ex-President of had his house raided today by KGZ (because I can’t spell that country’s name to save my life) special forces. His supporters began to throw rocks at the special forces and his house was lit on fire (not clear by who from the information I’ve). The majority of the incident was livestreamed by some local media. I don’t know what to make about this as I haven’t read about KGZ politics since the Asian Games last year. I do know that KGZ is one of a few ex-soviet states to actually have a somewhat functional democracy (though it’s still obviously not a true democracy). Hopefully, this isn’t a step in the wrong direction for the country.
  9. He’s had an off competition. I honestly expected much better results from the 2018 North American and 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games gold medalist.
  10. I wouldn’t call not being a racist a Western standard. That’s kind of a thin line you’re walking there. I understand the East has diversification issues, but excusing them is not the way to move forward.
  11. I actually quite liked that venue. Yes, it probably wasn’t first class, but it fit in well with the games.
  12. Roller Sports doesn’t even cost that much. If you don’t want to build a stadium, have the road events instead (I think that’s what Toronto 2015 actually did). All you need is convention center like place for Artistic Skating and a few roads for Speed.
  13. Yeah just saw the replay on Facebook. People seemed super concerned for his well being (I believe he ended up finishing the match). I’ve never seen that before and the commentator sounded like he hadn’t either. It’s one of the dangers of the sport though. I used to play on outdoor courts and now I’m glad I did.
  14. Well this didn’t happen in Squash and they play in an all glass Centre court
  15. I’d recommend having her start a small blog. That’s what a lot of successfully self-funded American athletes have done. She could explain the uses and importance of the funding, as well as paint a good picture of herself (she could present herself in a positive way). You could also maybe write something as to why you personally look her so much (that would get the old people to donate). Then you try to have the IBU write a short article about her so the greater Biathlon community knows her struggle and can help.
  16. That’s exactly why I call this a white terrorist attack. Fox News and the greater American media in general like to label only Middle Easterns as terrorists, which is just so racist (and I call them out for it all the time). Often when the shooter is white he’s “mentally ill”, “lone wolf”, or “lonely individual”. So I’m just playing Trumps game. His supporters are extremists and they shall be labeled as such.
  17. This has to be one of the saddest things I’ve read in a while. Here is the list of victims from El Paso: https://twitter.com/i/events/1159144104694931456 6 Mexican nationals and 1 German national were killed in the white terrorist attack.
  18. Well slavery wasn’t thought of as racist in my country at one point, but that doesn’t make it right obviously. I can understand the ignorance argument in countries where communication access is limited, but these are first world countries we are talking about. Also, I’m pretty positive Japanese citizens wouldn’t feel all that honored by the “Asian Eye gesture”.
  19. Trump’s nationalism speeches are just talk they said. Our nation will be fine they said. Why are you so worried people ask me? Here: https://abc7.com/man-slams-13-year-old-to-ground-during-national-anthem-police/5449398/
  20. This better be the golf course they use for 2032:
  21. @phelps What was the new Italian law that threatens athletes you mentioned earlier. Could you give me your best impartial explanation?
  22. Brabo sounds close to Bimbo and I’m hoping they’re not the same thing
