  1. McLaughlin-Levrone has run six races in five different distances this season. She has the world lead in two events, and is second in a third Edit: Forgot about her first two races at Oxy. Still, impressive though.
  2. Shoutout to Derek Gee . Dude's holding his own this week
  3. I was critical of Malinin’s choreography in the past, but this makes me very excited to see what he can do the next two seasons. Obviously not a competition program, but it shows what he can do on the ice.
  4. Jessica Rossi (shooting) and Lasha Bekauri (judo) were selcted as the best athletes at the 2023 European Games by the EOC Athletes' Commission. the EOC posted a press release here: https://www.eurolympic.org/rossi-and-bekauri-named-janez-kocijancic-award-winners-as-korhonen-takes-home-winter-piotr-nurowski-prize/
  5. He didn't seem overjoyed with his performance yesterday, which might be a worrying sign for those trying to beat him in Paris.
  6. Guess the LA28 prepartions are coming along nicely then
  7. Outsports is doing a series of feature articles on LGBTQ+ olympians this June. I thought the stories might be of interest to some forum members, so thought I’d give them a quick shout. Here’s an example on Emma Twigg : https://www.outsports.com/2024/6/5/24095323/emma-twigg-rowing-paris-summer-olympics-new-zealand-gold-medal/
  8. They had 7 individual athletes in Tokyo and Rio, at least by my count.
  9. Yeah, a freak crash on wet roads. It looked like riders just couldn't find traction the descents today.
  10. Personally, I find the idea of a chess tournament at the Olympics compelling. I think there's a lot that could be done to make it a great addition to the program. However, I think I've posted about it on the forum before.
  11. Evenepoel , Tarling , Roglic definitely looking good in the time trial at the moment.
  12. Guess you changed your mind then?
  13. I was thinking about watching some matches, but I don't really want to pay an extra fee for it, unfourtunately
  14. This aged very well considering it was posted in 2017. I was reading through some of the old Paris 2024 threads, and came across it.
  15. Cuba had two athletes go well under their PBs to get the Olympic standard in the men’s 100.
  16. I come across stories about Ulama every so often, and I think it would be great to see it in the Pan American Games. Obviously, work needs to be done to bring it in line with international sports norms, but it would be a cool and unique edition to the sports program in my opinion. I do think it’s sad that uniquely Pan American (and indigenous) sports like lacrosse and ulama have never really been featured at the continent’s biggest sporting event.
  17. World Athletics is working on some new events.
  18. Never had it, but on my list of things to try at some point.
  19. No, it doesn't appear so: https://www.gymnastics.sport/site/events/detail.php?id=17041#loaded (check the "files" tab)
  20. appear to have received universality quotas according to the FIG’s latest update.
  21. FIG also lists Praewa Misato Philaphandeth as qualified via the universality place in rhythmic gymnastics.
  22. Welcome to the club. It can be both frustrating and rewarding (CAC Games women's basketball gold was so awesome)
